We have 10 year old grey hound named Jess. We where watch TV one night on the floor with her about 6 mos ago. She was sound to sleep and

began urinating she didnt even move ro seem to know that she was doing this. This we found to happen a couple more time then it just stopped.

She had a check up in April andevery thing was fine. She had her teeth cleaned about a month ago. When we returned home this evening

we found that she had urinated a couple time. It looked like she had been sleep because it was on her back behind area. She sleeps like that

all the time.

Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this and should we see the vet? Appreciate any info.

Thanks

My girl is nine now and has also suffers from incontinence. She has spay incontinence and I do have her on meds for it. You will want to go to the vet to rule out an urinary infections and to decide if meds are the route to go, proin does have side effects but I keep my girl on the lowest dose that helps. If she goes off the medication, she leaks often and appears embarrassed, also when it happens when we are at work, I worry about the urine scalding her..so even though meds are not flawless, they have improved her quality of life.

My June Bug just turned 10. About three months ago, I discovered that her bed was wet and she was soaked. It was the weekend and it happened again. Monday I took a urine sample to the vet. It came back fine. The vet put her on meds -- 2 times a day. He said that after we got it under control we would "play" with the dose. June is now on one pill every three days, and she is fine.

See what your vet has to say. It can be controlled.

From Wisconsin -- It's Nancy, Bob, Carla, June Bug and our newby Skorch.... along with Buffy. She's the little hound that meows.

With loving memorials to K.C., Barko and Major Turn -- all playing at the bridge.
