Guest amour
My vet is sending my boy to doggie dentist because he has gingivitis. Are X-rays necessary and how much do they cost. Going tomorrow. Please advise.
tbhounds
Dental rads would be able to see if your pup has any pockets or deep root decay-- great idea to have them done if the dentist recommends it. I believe they are about $30 a view. Going to a boarded dentist is a great idea-- went down that road with my girl a few weeks ago--glad I did. BTW-- see if they carry Biotene maintance gel-- best product I ever used! Edited December 3, 2010 by tbhounds

GeorgeofNE
X-rays are part of a normal dental at my vet. I don't understand why your vet didn't just do them? Guest amour
Update?? How did it go??? Diagnosis from dentist is gingivitis. Recommendation is diligent daily maintenance at home and to bring him back in 4 months for cleaning and xrays because they were cleaned 5 weeks ago. Thanks
tbhounds
You should use Biotene maintaince gel (the veterinary form), I'm so happy with that product. It's great for gingivitis. Thanks for the update!
