Guest BoogieDown
We are sending hugs and good thoughts, and our hopes that taking him off the amoxicillin will do the trick.
duncan41
That sounds encouraging! Is he on anything to protect his stomach? Pepcid? I would worry that the meds would be throwing him off his food. Sending prayers and hoping that it's just an unusual reaction to the meds. Please update when you can. Hugs and prayers for you and Sterling. Guest mcsheltie
107 Holy Moly! Praying your vet will find the cause SOON! Be checking in for updates. FYI, Antirobe (Clindamycin) is a good antibiotic to use for pulsing. Very few side affects.
Guest ZBippy
Yeah, she couldn't believe the temp either at first. She had the tech go get another thermometer and check it herself to be sure it was right. Poor guy. I think he enjoyed stretching out on the cool tile floor at the vet's office. Guest eaglflyt
This may have already been done, but has he been tested for a full Tick borne disease panel? Also, when our girl had fever >106, we used a cool, wet cloths to sponge her down and placed cool packs between her legs and body. We didn't want her to chill, but definitely cool her down. Fevers this high can be damaging.

Guest ZBippy
This may have already been done, but has he been tested for a full Tick borne disease panel? We have not done a tick borne disease panel. I never even though about it, actually. They are going to call me with the blood results tomorrow so I will ask about it then. I started him on the new antibiotics and I do have to say that he seems to feel a bit cooler now. Petting him isn't really a scientific way to gauge fever but he definitely feels cooler. I bought a big thing of ground beef at the store so I can make him his favorite meal, Disgusting Porridge*, for breakfast tomorrow. * cream of wheat, ground beef, chicken livers, heavy cream, egg, ground eggshell
Guest Energy11
To get a total TBD Panel, you can use Protatek Labs, Chandler AZ! They do a TOTAL GH panel, covering ALL the diseases caused by ticks! They are fast and thorough. All your vet has to do is draw a tube of blood and spin it down. YOU can fill out their requisition form, and send the blood in yourself. I did this for my five. Good Luck!
