Ollie Question About The Treatment Of Giardia

As you probably remember he is being treated with 1000mg of flagyl but his poop is still soft serve. Should I add in tylan powder? I have it from Beau last year and it's been refrigerated.

How long does it take for the poop to firm up when being treated? He has been on it since Tuesday.

Yes, we used both flagyl and Tylocine (Tylan) with Tally. When the flagyl didn't do the trick, we extended it and added several rounds (three rounds of 5 days, separated by three weeks) of Panacur. Giardia can be a bear to get rid of. Tally's poop didn't firm up until after the final round of Panacur. I hope Ollie/Cassidy's is less entrenched.

I would combine the Flagyl with a 5 day course of Panacur.

Ditto that advice. My good vet told me one of the inert ingredients in Panacur also helps stop loose stools. So I usually use that instead of Safeguard.
