Vet/cardiologist Around E.aurora Ny

Recommended Posts

Well......... looks like Cofax will be moving (with us) in the near future to the East Aurora NY area if/when her human Dad takes a new job there at Moog. So she'll be needing a new vet and a cardiologist (she has Mitral Valve disease)............. guess we'll also need some group contacts in the area. We'll let you know when the big move will take place - everything is still be negociated at this time. (We're originally from Lackawanna.)

Thanks Tina, Bob & Cofax

I grew up in East Aurora! Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the vets in Buffalo. However, I know a friend of mine took her greyhound with a heart problem to a cardiologist out here in Rochester. That would be over an hour from East Aurora though. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

How cool! Where at Moog will he be? My DBF is a Senior Metalurgist in the MetLab for Moog and we live about 25 miles from there in Moo Town (Java Center actually). We use two very grey savy vets for our girlies. One is about a mile away from Moog actually, and the other is more near the Amherst area. Buffalo Greyhound Adoption is one of our local groups for which I am on the fundraising committee for.

We use Seneca Animal Hospital near Moog, and also used Georgetown Animal Clinic in Amherst when we had our senior girlie. She went there all her life. There are a couple more grey savy vets in the area, but I would start with Seneca. Dr. Tomasky (sp) even has greys of his own and Seneca does many of our dogs in from the tracks before adoption.

Aside from the NYS taxes, you will like the area if you stay around Moog and it's surrounding areas. The city of Buffalo and it's surrounding areas are getting quite run down.

Check out Rochester Vet Specialists, I think I recall them having cardiologists on staff there.

I'm sure Buffalo might have somebody out there as well, once you find a vet, I'm sure they can refer you to somebody.

Just wanna say "hi" and that I also use Georgetown Animal Clinic in Amherst. I got Dilly from GREAT (another greyhound group out here) but I usually go to more of the BGA events. I am in Amherst/Snyder, BTW

WAY COOL! We're originally from Lackawanna - I really agree with the run down areas....... such a shame. We have lots of family and friends still there. My brother also works at Moog - Ed Madar..... Bob would be: Senior Project Engineer in the Space & Defense Group’s Projects and Systems Engineering function supporting Test Equipment Design and Development. I know it's on Jamison Rd the closest plant to the 400.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I'll try to see if they have websites - if not I'll look up their numbers and give a call. I think we actually passed the Seneca one while driving around there. Email me personally so we can "yap" more! bob-tina@comcast.net Hope we can have a pup get together!
