Jackandgrey Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) A friend has recently adopted a 6 year old girl who was very ill with babesia 2 years ago - lethargy; anorexia & weight loss; difficulty breathing; "internal bleeding". She was treated with 2 injections of Imizol. She is now seemingly very healthy and happy. (and very sweet ) Can this disease reoccur? Does she need to watch for anything in particular? Does she need followup bloodwork of any kind? Anthing she needs to know? Thank you all in advance. What I'm asking is if there are long term effects post treatment that the new adopter needs to be aware of. This dog is a bounce and she has very little information other than what I mentioned in the original post.
