Guest Mollysmom
Hello, my name is Kristen and my husband Alex and I have recently adopted two greyhounds, one in April, and one last Saturday. Recently, my boy Ronan (aka Troy, aka Bohemian Tokay) escaped our fenced-in yard and was lost for a day and a half. He was also listed in this forum's Amber Alert, and thanks to the help of forum members and WAG volunteers he is now safely home. I wanted to register earlier and offer my heartfelt gratitude, I just needed to obtain an email address not from Yahoo or MSN! Anyway, Molly and Ronan are reunited and happy. Ronan has a tear on his left hind paw and he is thin, but in otherwise good condition. My husband and I are constructing a larger (6ft) fenced-in yard for Ronan and Molly to use. Again, I want to reinterate my gratitude for everyone's help and support. You guys are the best!!!

Guest SquanHound
Welcome! I am so glad to hear that your boy Ronan is back home. You'll find that GT is a fantastic place not only for its amber alert (hopefully you'll never have to use it again), but fantastic advice and just enjoying greyhounds. However, you there is one major rule around here -- no posting about pups without pictures So hopefully we'll get to see Molly & Ronan soon

It's on the high list of priorities, (right up there with getting a higher fence put up!)

Guest Mollysmom
Thanks for all the well wishes...you have no idea how we have beat ourselves up over our mistake. We honestly thought that a 48'' fence would suffice, but we were wrong. At least this cautionary tale has a happy ending! Here are the salient facts about our life in Andover: My husband and I have been married for five years. We have lived in Andover for three years. In 2006, our German Shepherd, Dominick passed away. He was eleven years old. We waited nearly a year before looking into adopting a new dog, and we decided we wanted to adopt a retired racing greyhound. We did our homework (or so we thought!) and we went through REGAP of CT to adopt our first grey, Molly aka Aloha Molly. She is a small fawn brindle female weighing in at approximately 57 pounds. Molly joined our home, which includes four cats and many aqaurium fish in April. We had to wait a couple of months before we were able to adopt another greyhound; we wanted a companion for Molly and we knew that she would be happiest with another grey. While seaching through Petfinder.com I saw Ronan's profile. He was listed with WAG in Glastonbury, CT. A home visit on July 7th was scheduled. On the 7th we met with Ronan (or Troy as he was called) and another handsome boy Owen. Ronan stayed with us, and after a brief interval, he is home to stay. Guest SoulsMom
Welcome! I too came to GT b/c of search for a lost hound in my city. We still don't know what happened to Pharaoh, but I've found a lot of friends here. I just wish it hadn't had been at Pharaohs expense I watched Ronan's thread, and I'm so glad he's okay. I weep with joy for every found hound. Again, welcome!

As awful as it felt to lose Ronan for that brief interval, I cannot imagine the pain you must feel over losing such a longtime friend. My thoughts are with you.
