    Rusty started panting more than usual this afternoon. I knew something was wrong

    so I took him to the vets. They took x rays and found a large mass in his stomach.

    The doc. said it didn't look good, and he said it could rupture and there's a chance I could lose him tonite.

    :crying My heart is broken into a million pieces. :cry1

    He goes for an altra sound tomorrow at 4:00 pm. I really don't know why, there's only

    a slim chance that something can be done for him. I'm sorry, I gotta go, I can't see to good

    right now, and I keep misspelling stupid words. :sbox I love my big guy so much.

     

    I don't know Rusty's whole story of why you say there is a slim chance something can be done for him.

     

    My PJ (not a greyhound) started acting quiet one evening and her gums were white. By the time we got to the ER vet she was more herself. They did x-rays and found a large mass in her stomach as well. I remember the vet saying that since it was that large, it probably wasn't cancer. They didn't want to operate there in case it burst. Like you I was also devastated and petrified! In the middle of the night I drove 120 miles to take her to U of MO at Columbia vet school. I think it took me 1 hour to drive there.They did surgery the next afternoon and it ended up being an 11 pound hematoma (I think that's what they called it....this was back in 1998.) She recovered completely.

     

    Praying that Rusty's ultrasound goes well and it's something that can be fixed. Rusty is beyond adorable! :kiss2

    Oh I'm so relieved to hear Jane is back home and seems to be doing well!! :couchjump I was so worried about her!

     

    The times my dog had to stay at Columbia, I was really pleased with them! I worry about everything, so their frequent calls were very comforting. :blush

    You have her at the right place....prayers that all went well today and they can find out what is going on with her. :hope:candle

    I just got an email from Cora and am just heartbroken to hear this news. :brokenheart

     

    I hope there is some comfort that Dennis and Zinger are together...they certainly were like mirrored images! Both beautiful boys gone way too soon. :weep

     

    Dennis & Zinger and those who loved them are in my thoughts and prayers. :f_white

    Oh Donna, I am so sorry! I saw Tatum's name on the Topic and thought, oh no, I know that name, not registering yet who she belonged to. :weep

    Oh Trish, I am so sorry to hear this. :weep I am just in shock, it just seems like this happened so fast. :(

     

    Thunder was so handsome and I look forward to hearing more about him when you feel like sharing some stories.

    Suzie, Brian, Miss Katie and Mr. Alan, you have our deepest sympathy. :f_pink

     

    You will never know the huge impact Miss Nellie has made on so many...thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing her with us, the good times and the bad. She will forever be missed and loved.

     

    Even though Miss Nellie didn't beat this $%#@ cancer, she brought such a huge awareness to so many about this and Dr. C's research.

     

    We are so sorry for your loss. :weep

     

    God Bless Miss Nellie and your family, and all the others who are fighting this monster. May Miss Nellie have a wonderful time as she runs and plays and waits at the bridge until she meets you all again. :gh_run2
