  1. I would change the dressing once daily for the time being. Soak the foot in a dilute iodine solution (the color of weak tea) to clean it, then let it dry, reapply the EMT gel and wrap it back up using a nonstick gauze pad, then vet wrap. Once it's healed enough that you can do this, I would start leaving it unwrapped overnight when he won't be on it, and muzzle with a poop guard to keep him from working on it if necessary - wounds heal much faster when they have access to air.

One note, if you are wrapping his foot, put cotton balls between his toes and in the "pocket" on the underside of his foot so that when he stands, his foot is in it's natural position rather than squished together so he doesn't develop sores or other issues. That may help with how he walks when the foot is bandaged as well.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you for posting my exact words before I had to! :lol

  2. Beans had one on his shoulder - It was really too big for me to pull off so I had the vet take it off. He didn't even flinch.

Does Melody get sebaceous cysts too? They look like big wart/pimples. If you pop them nasty smelly stuff comes out. Beans gets them every so often.

  3. Thank you for the box full of gifts! Beans looks great in his new collar and the treats were a BIG hit (they smelled so good, I almost tried one!), as was the screaming monkey. I really liked my chocolates and all the other gifts you sent.

    Thank you!!

  4. Well, I'm really glad that I got him 'Chicken Crack'! :lol I knew it would be a good choice after I saw how my boys reacted to them.

I figured Mr Max would have a least ONE pair of jammies to call his own - I guess it's a case of the cobbler's children having no shoes!

    Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

  5. :lol :lol Love it!

I'll have to answer the measurement questions later this evening, but here's the rest of the info:

Beans gets called all manner of names - but mostly we call him Beansyboy or Stinky (he doesn't like that one much).

Beans eats everything except mushrooms and celery he loves treats of all types. This is evident by the amount that he weighs - he came off the track at about 70lbs and is up to about 75lbs now (not much, but he's an easy keeper).

He looks best in 1 1/2 collars in just about any color but the warm colors are the best for him (reds, oranges, golds, browns).

  6. Clay Greys will be offering a free gift box, wrapping, and a card for all secret santa ornament and/or blanket orders.

I will also be offering printed gift certificates for those who would like to give a custom ornament or blanket, but don't know what their SS specifically is looking for.

Contact me at ecsp8@yahoo.com for ordering.

  7. I'm still hoping for more answers - but thank you so far! I LOOOOOOVE to bake, it's one of my passions in life. However, there are only so many cookies/breads etc that my DH and I can physically consume with out exploding! I just didn't know if people would think it weird ...

  8. Don't send me any avocados. Somehow, I don't think that will be a problem. :lol

(Hey, you think THAT food allergy is weird - I went to school with a girl allergic to CELERY. )

    Ok, that's weird!

Luckily, I have no allergies (well, except to my cats - please don't send any more - mail is not an approved way of getting rid of unwanted kittens :lol).

  9. I noticed in the 'Fill in the Blanks' thread that a few of the questions were about food. I thought with the prevalence of food allergies these days (either in us or a family member) that it might be a good idea to share that information so we don't inadvertently poison anyone!

  10. Colour

    - anything that's not pastel. I especially love blues, greens, and reds.

    Savoury food

    - Bacon, definitely bacon.

    Chocolate

    - All of it!

    Cookie

    - Any of them!

Stuff to put in the bath

    - Citrus scented stuff or just plain clean smells. Nothing overly fruity.

Stuff to use in the shower

    - Ditto the bath.

** I don't get a lot of time to take baths, plus my tub is tiny and gross, so shower stuff that hydrates is probably more useful for me. **

    Smell

    - Ditto above.

    Scented candle

    - No candles please - I have a dumb cat who walks over lit candles and burns his fur EVERY time I light one.

    Photograph of your dog(s)?

    Type of jewellery

    - Necklaces mostly, usually just pendants. I don't have pierced ears and don't wear a lot of jewelry on a regular basis (except wedding band, engagement ring, my proposal necklace and a greyhound charm necklace my mom gave me... now that I type that out it seems like a LOT of jewelry :lol).

    Style of ornament

    - More whimsical, but not country.

    Style of festive decoration

    - Currently enjoying reindeer, garland and lights.

    Television programme (present)

DR Who, Torchwood, How I met your mother, Two and a half men, Bones, House, Greys Anatomy, Hotel Bablyon, etc etc etc.

    Television programme (past)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Dead Like Me.

Type of reading material (inc authors if appropriate)

Who has time to read! I haven't read a book that I didn't HAVE to in a really long time.
