  1. Can't believe I am seeing this only now.

Rachel, I am so sorry for your loss.

You managed to document her life through so many beautiful pictures, it made feel like I knew her in person.

She will be missed by many.

  2. No, I am not..and I'm sure, she isn't either. Tell me..what would be wrong for her to be in this group? The Galgo IS a greyhound, it just isn't from England..English greyhound. While it is true that Galgos are rescued from Spain, they are a greyhound.. There are greyhounds from Ireland.. the Irish greyhound..as indicated by the 'ridge' on the back of their necks.

Not to cause any trouble, but this statement is not true.

The Galgo Español is a different, old, recognized breed with his own breed standard.

If you translate the Spanish word galgo into english, you get greyhound, but it is greyhound from Spain. Galgo Español

If a Spanish person is talking about the greyhound like most people know on this board, be it English, Irish, American bred, they call it the Galgo Inglés.

And while it is true that many Irish greyhounds end(ed) up in Spain and there will be greyhound blood in many rescues, most of them are mostly Galgo Español

You wouldn't call a Galgo Afgano a greyhound, would you?

And while the Spanish say Galgo Húngaro, other countries call them Magyar Agár

  3. Ok, first off, I am not the type running to the vet really fast if I can avoid it, in general I think common sense can safe you a lot of stress and money.

So I decided to wait, since he seemed not in too much discomfort after he threw up the last time.

Waited a bit longer and fed him a bit of food and he seems to be doing ok.

I'll stay up for as long as I can.

But yes, I am positive he ate the whole thing. Think he chewed it into very small pieces seen what he vomited up.

As for now, no more vomit, although I am sure not everything came out yet, hope the rest will pass.

But I'll keep a good eye on him and if he seems to be in any discomfort (he is sleeping now), he will be seeing the vet.

Thanks for all the info, I'll let you know how he is doing tomorrow.

Ok, reading back : safe should probably be save?

  4. Apparently, this afternoon, Lehto ate the tennis ball his agility teacher gave him.

Tonight he has thrown up twice after our walk and a little treat.

Looks like he bit the rubber in tiny little pieces.

Just not sure if I should feed him tonight.

Would be kibble with ground buffalo and beef added.

And what are the signs of blokage that I need to look for. If needed we will be at the vet first thing in the morning.

    Sigh, puppies. :(

  5. Our little white monster recently got into my husbands almonds a few times.

When looking it up, I get mixed stories.

Are, or aren't they toxic to dogs, if they are, please tell me how bad it can get so I can scare the S#$% out of my husband.

He doesn't seen to think it is a big deal and until now she is fine, but she already had several hands full over the last few weeks.

For some reason this doesn't feel good, even though she doesn't seem to have problems.

  6. Craig, I am so sorry to hear this.

Always enjoyed the pictures of both Brandee and Charley and I am so sorry that that horrible disease took her away from you and your family.

  7. Glad to see it is pretty common behavior in puppies.

Lehto also does it, specially with my husband and has drawn blood several times.

Had to tell him that there would be no more playing if Lehto used his teeth.

Lehto knows not to do it with me, I will not allow it, but it also costed me a pair of work out pants.

Right now he is teething and seems be be a bit worse again, so I make sure he has a lot of stuff to chew on, plenty of sticks when we take a walk and since yesterday he is carrying a tennis ball when he goes out.

  8. All dogs are susceptible to Parvo and should be inoculated for it.

    Yes!

It's very contagious also! Don't need dog to dog contact for it, if you get in contact with a dog with that disease, you can spread it to other dogs in other places.
