  1. I have been going to a natural herb store for my greyhounds and started off with CBD oil for them of 500mg giving them .25ml twice a day and I also added to that a liver and kidney cleanser,a detox powder,a joints am and joints pm and a heartworm and parasite powder which all have 100% organic. He sold me a product for super high energy formula also natural. Because I have 2 big greyhounds I was going through it quickly. So I decided to call the manufacturer to see if they have a bigger bottle. I just found out those products have not been sold in years and they should not be selling them because the have expired along time ago. I am very pissed because I trusted this individual with my dogs. I spend a fortune at his store and he even has his own dog station and lots of people go to him. But now he has totally lost my trust on everything and I will be looking for someone new asap. I live in Boynton Beach Florida and I need someone new to purchase my natural products from. I do not want to put any chemicals in my dogs so I try to do the right thing and look what happens. Please help me find someone new, my babys mean the world to me.
  2. The vet saw my dog today and everything looks fine. They checked him and I had them do a bacteria test came back negative. They also checked to see if he had a fever and he did not. He does not look deyhidrated and he is holding his food down. The doctor just recommended to give him gatorade instead of water. So when I got home, he started drinking the gatorade and held it down. Because gatorade has so much sugar, I am adding it to their water because I think the sugar is giving my other dog gas because he was drinking it as well. I will be watching him closely to make sure he continues to intake water.
  3. I just finish feeding him in which I add water to his kibbles anyways to water down the pumpkin that I also give them. I noticed he drank a little bit of water on his own after his meal. But he does have an appointment tommorrow morning just in case, I noticed he coughed this evening. What worries me is that both them go to daycare every saturday to exercise but they are not mixed with any other dog. I want to thank evetyone for their responses and support. I will post tommorrow after the vets. I hope they can pinpoint it right away because he does not like the vets.
  4. Now your scaring me. He is walking, playing pulling and eating. I always put some water in his food and just gave him bread with water and pasta with water. He just does not want to drink from his water bowl because he knows he is going to vomit.
  5. Yes. Its new and its everytime he drinks water. Whats weird is that he is holding down his food but not the water. Now he does not want to drink water. So I am getting bread and soaking it in water or a handful of pasta in water so he does not get dehydrated. He has a vet appointment tommorrow morning. Iam hoping its not something serious. I just went through a big scare with my other greyhound with cancer and had a medal plate taken out of his leg and now dealing with a corn with him.
  6. His bowels have always been elevated and I have been giving him the water bowl to make sure he is drinking some water. I called his vet but has nothing available to a week from this saturday. I will call them again tommorrow mornibg and see if I can get him in this week as an emergency.
  7. My greyhound cannot hold his water down but he is eating and pooping normal. He just started with this. He is not over drinking and I stand there with him. The minutes he drinks a little bit of water he gags and throws it out. If I hold his head up Fter he drinks he holds it in. What coild be wrong? Some times I am seeing him pant until he falls asleep.
  8. I am glad they figured it out and wow on the charge.they have taken his medal plate out and he said everything look fine, no infection, loose screws no reason to biopsy anything. He did mention to me that if he conti ued to limp the next step was goung to be some kind of shot to lubricate his joints and help with what could be his arthritis. We did not go to much into it because we were hoping that removing the plate would help him. He does go to the surgeon next tuesday and I am sure they are going to x ray it to see whats going on with his leg.
  9. Thank you everyone for your input I really appreciate it and respect all of your inputs. They did check for corns and he did not have any. He is going back to the surgeon next tuesday. The surgeon who took his plate off is the original surgeon who put the plate on him when he broke his elbow on the track in three different areas. He is a huge surgeon and a lot of these dogs that come off the track go to him. The vet hospital his huge and they deal with everything there from cancer to everything else. I am to drop him off on tuesday and I am 100% sure they are going to do x rays on his leg to see whats going on. In regards to osteo, his regular vet who also deals with a lot of dogs from the tracks did x rays back in September and a biopsy when he started with this and the x rays also went to a specialist and to the surgeon before we went forward to take the plate out and it came back negative.I also had x rays of his chest done to see if it may be osteo and his lungs were cleared thats when the surgeon decided the next move was to take the plate outin case it was bothering him or if an ingection was building up. When he was in there taking the plate he did not see anything that would cause him to get a biopsy or any infection. I believe the shot he may be considering is adequin something for his joints like a lubricant for his joints. I hope the news is good where all he needs is just time to heal. Someone did mention to me that sometimes it can get worse before it gets better because he needs to strenghten it without the plate now. I have him on tramadol right now for the pain. Yes he does limp the same on what ever floor he is on. It seems like sometimes his leg goes from under him while he is walking as well. No. He is currently on no supplements, I had him on cosequinn and it gave him such bad diareah that I had to take him off it. He has a very sensitive stomach and everything makes him sick.
  10. I am trying to find out if this has happen to anyone else. My greyhound is 6 yrs old and a retired racer. One day in October I noticed he was limping and it was getting worse. I took him to my vet and we did x rays and biopsy to clear out that it is not bone cancer. That came back negative(thank god, I was a mess), the next step, was to take his metal plate out of his leg. That was done more than a month ago. He was still limping some what because now he needed to strenghten his leg without the metal plate. He was on Carprofin once a day but now that he is finished with it last week. His limping is worst then before prior to taking the plate out. The surgeon did tell me that we will not know if taking the plate would help him and I took that chance because I want to do what ever I can for my baby. The surgeon did tell me if taking the plate does not work he may have to get some kind of hormone shots. Has anyone ever had this promblem before and are you giving your greyhound shots? He is go back to the surgeon next Tuesday which I am sure they will have to do surgery to see whats going on with that leg.
  11. I am not going to wait. I am trying to get him to surgery this Monday and he will be staying overnight is the plan if everything goes good. So I will pick him up Tuesday after work and take wed, thurs, friday off and have sat and sunday with him which would give me 5 days with him at home after surgery. I just hope its not a bad infection. He has been through a lot with a dog attack on his other leg last year. They did do x rays and biopsy becayse they thought it maybe bone cancer but it came back negative and this is our next procedure is to remove the plate. If he had a bad infection, I would think he would have a fever. But he is walking, playing, eating and being normal. It is just the limping I see now. But these dogs are good at hiding their pain and thats what concerns me with him.
  12. He was on deramaxx 75 mg but removed because he does not seem to be in pain. I am worried what damage pain killers can do if left along time in his system. I did put a call to his vet which I shpuld receive a call back tommorrow.
  13. I just put a call to his regular vet to see if I can leave him on pain meds that long. He will be calling me tommorrow.
  14. I just put a call to his regular vet to see if I can leave him on pain meds that long. He will be calling me tommorrow.
  15. I am taking him back to the surgeon who put his plate on. The plate is not backing out, it just needs to be taken out. They estimated a high end of 1300 that is without a discount of being rescued through an organization that works with this hospital and also a discount because the plate was done there. My concern is that there will be no one here if I do it now and I wont be here 24 hours till Feb. His limb is not big and he constantly wants to go for walks by I limit his walks for now. The hospital says its fine but if I see him not wanting to go for walks or getting up I will have it done asap. Trust me I always put my dogs ahead of me. Thank you all for helping me. I really appreciate it.
  16. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. She will always be in your heart and you in hers. She will always be watching you and running free of pain with all the others in that special place. She will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge and you will realize that u never left each others heart.
  17. Thank you. Apparently my normal vet will not do the surgery. He has requested for me to take him back to the surgeon who put the plate on. I already put a call into him but I have not heard back yet. My dog has been through so much, not to long ago he was attacked by another and almost lost one of his front leg so he has a big scar and had to be operated two times and held at the emergency vet for almost three weeks. Now he has this issue on his other leg. I am just hoping that he can also wait till Feb because I can stay with him 24 hours a day, normally no one is home while I am working.
  18. My dog has been limping for a while so I took to a vet and he said it was arthritus so I gave him pills for arthritus. After 1 month I see that it was not helping. So I took him back to the vet and saw my regular vet and he bend the dogs foot and leg to see if it was hurting him and it was not. So we decided x rays and it seemed like he had dark spots in his bone so we were leaning toward bone cancer. We did a biopsy by taking a piece of the bone out and I wanted chest x rays. Chest x rays clear and biopsy came back with not having bone cancer. Next step is remove the plate he has which is close to his elbow. Does anyine know what the recovery time is and what would be an estimate price. I am being laid of in Feb and I want to know if it can wait till then so I can be with him for the recovery.
