Well things have turned a corner and its looking good with Green bag and Olewo carrots things have firmed up.

Well we thought Green bag was working were when just mixing it in to chicken and rice. But now that we are mixing more of it the poops are not great again. They are not as bed as before. I am thinking of giving it a few days and see if things improvement

Thanks all We got a small bag of green bag that and some Olewo carrots seem to agree with here. We can also get the 40 lbs bags of it at costco so it is readily available to us. We are excited for some Marvin time. My inlaws are in for a treat a house with three hounds in it may make my mother in law crazy. hehe

So Kirkland's best salmon dog food isn't agreeing with her so we were thinking of grabbing some Iams green bag. To my surprise its not grain free. Am I looking at the wrong stuff? Thanks Ryan

Horay for olewo! We have had them for awhile and never used them as Our big boy seems to have firmed up with bananas. Our new Girl has had terrible poops for a bunch of reasons so to help along with other stuff but I have to say immediate improvement.

Mary We had a good poop this morning so I think it was the kibble not the chicken that was causing the issue. Thanks, Ryan

So when Stella f.k.a Baby came to us almost 2 weeks ago she still had worms, and all of the unpleasant BM,s that come with that. So she has been on a bland diet of chicken and Rice (with water mixed in) sense she has arrived. She has been eating 2 cups twice a day. Little miss Stella had a race weight of 64 lbs , her medical records from GEGR said 60 lbs, and when we went to her wellness vet visit she was down to 56 lbs. Went back to get some more shots she is down to 53 lbs. So now she is getting 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups twice a day. All bland, we tried to give her some kibble mixed in with her bland and it didn't go well. She has done one coarse of Pana Cure and is on a anti-boitic. Any suggestions on help putting the weight back on? Should I just weight and let the more food do its trick? We didn't have this problem with our first Grey He piled the pounds on fast once he was home. Thanks, Ryan, Niki, Cole, Dino and Now Stella

Thanks all I am going to look into a chiropractor and add some other supplements. I can say that he isn't showing any pain is goes crazy every day when I come home wanted to play, spinning and running around its just that his rear legs don't extend as far back as they use to forward no problem.

We are making an effort to get the weight down. I was surprised that his weight had gotten back up. Dino does get two pumps of Salmon oil in his dinner at night. Has anyone tried CMO in addition to the he golcosamean/ condition? Thanks,

So Dino was in to the Vet for some booster shots and a look over. Since Dino's mystery rear leg injury last winter the vet always checks his back end. The vet noticed that his rear legs don't have as much range of motion. I doesn't seem to slow him down back yard zoomies a few times a week and Greyhound playgroup once a month. Dino is 7 year old large male at a little over 90 lbs, yes he is a little over weight his race weight was 85 lbs He already take Greyhound gang get up and go. So grettalkers what else can I do, give my big boy to get those long legs moving a little better? Thanks, Ryan

Dino second blood panel back and a manual count was done count virtually the same as it was one year ago ~150 So false alarm. thanks everyone for your help Ryan

They checked for worms and tick born diseases we are going back this week to have the blood checked again.

I wasn't to concerned with the level, it's the change in level that had me worried.

SO I know Grey's can have lower then other breads, but Dino's count has dropped from ~150 to 93 in a year. We are going back in two weeks for another blood panel. Ok a little back ground. Dino is 6.5 yr old large male with a minor hart murmur we discovered last year, we went to the cardiologist he suggested that Dino was in fact a Greyhound and should take up lure coursing. He raced until he was 4 at weight of 82-85 lbs.and in retirement he got up to 95lbs but we now have him back down to 86 lbs. About 2 months ago he hurt his rear left leg, We are not sure how DW came home and he was standing on his bed with his left rear leg up. It took about a month for him to get back to 90% No real change in diet, except we switched from fish oil to coconut oil and more fruit in his breakfast. So my question is there something dietary I could be doing or some other symptoms/causes I should be looking into? Thanks again Ryan

Dino went through a phase were it would try any poo, after some corection that ended. He now doesnt eat other dog poo just rabit /squirrel

Right now Dino is boycotting the back yard he has a sore leg and doesn't like the stairs to the back yard. The stairs in the front of the house ok. Both of the pups Dino and Misty (the house guest) well the muzzel is enough of a deterrent so no poo guard needed. Thanks for all of the great advice, I was just hoping there was something they were missing from there diet, bust I guess its muzzel for bathrooms trips.

So we have one Grey a extra large male, but we have started hound sitting for other members of our adoption group, we because we like it. Dino and our current house guest, every time they go out, together or separately. they go and find squire/rabbit poop in the back yard. Never there poop but tiny turd bared in the grass. Is there something I can do? are they missing something? Help Thanks Ryan

One of the main reasons I chose to go get Dino checked, was a member of the message board I am on with my adoption groups experience. His hound has heart disease causing his hounds murmur, but the medication that his hounds need to live a normal health life totals to $10 a month, so I figured better safe then sorry. No will I be spending $600 every year with no cause, probably not, but if things change or get worse I will get Dino the care he needs to be happy and healthy. Kelly this looks like so much fun, Niki and I have a lot of work to do around the house prepping for Cole's first B day party. I have been told its a big deal, and there is a lot of prep to be done. I don't understand but I like to be happy and healthy so I do what she asks Thanks Ryan

Ok you all called it Dino is fine Grade 2 normal for a Greyhound and is cleared for normal . The cardiologist suggest lure coursing. So in conclusion I feel better and am crazy and Dino wonders why we went to a different vet who he like better, I think because they have Windows and conformable beds. Also think I am going to send my vet a lot of Grey specif info she may hate me after that. Kris let Indy and River know We have lots of pet for them, I might even let River chew on a leash. I spoke to the Vet today she said that she graded it a 2 and the second vet graded it a 3. so off to the cardiologist

Nether gave it a grade the last one said she wouldn't know until they had the results of the ultrasound. Ryan

So after a somewhat unrelated Vet visit one the vets we see at the Veterinary practices we go to thought she heard a heart murmur in the are of his mitral valve. She asked us to come back so she could check again, as Dino was very nerves and had been there for a while. SO we came back and I tried to keep Dino outside as long as we could to try to keep his anxiety down, didn't really work, and the second vet said she also hears it. This time Dino was more upset then the last visit he did settle a little eventually. So the vet suggested that we visit a canine cardiologist for an ultra sound, I will be calling them and inquiring about a visit. The Vet also suggested that we keep the full out running to a minimum. So my question to all of the Grey talkers, hoe you every heard of a grey having a such an issue and if so do you have any advise. Thank you in advance. Ryan
