  1. Tractor has had bloody diarhhea this weekend. I gave him some pumpkin and it firmed up and got less bloody. Then, this morning, I fed the dogs, went to the gym, came home, and there was a huge puddle of bloody diarhhea on the floor. He's too old for parvo (he's 4) and he's the only dog with this problem. We're going to the vet today, but I'm hoping for some other thoughts on what this could be...
  2. I have a Tank and a Tractor as Greyhounds. I have a female Max (I know its a boy name, but I'm the Grinch, what can I say!) and I have a foster named Macho that will probably become Nacho. Hope that helps...
  3. Have you tried the Jif Simply Peanut butter? Its less sugar and less additives. Also there's yogurt, kibble, cheese, broken up cookies, and carrots. I freeze everything so that it lasts longer.
  4. Tractor is a nester! He tends to steal clothing and collect it in the living room, then sleep on it. This morning it was underwear, pajama pants, t-shirts, and shoes. After a while, he gave up on that and is now crashed in the bed.
  5. Probiotics work, so does beano if it is really, really bad. I once drove to Indiana from Florida with the windows down in November so we could all still breathe.
  6. My husband and I are childless by choice too. And my fur kids are just as important to me as any human child. We had to watch our Hiro decline and decided that when he couldn't get up to go to the bathroom any more, that's when it was time. I'm sorry you are having to go through this. You can remember the good days, try to forget the bad, and love Sherman as much as you can.
  7. Tank very, very rarely gives kisses. Tractor on the other hand is a little mouthier. This morning, I got a very excited wet nose in my eye. Followed by a tongue across my nose. Tractor gives licks on the leg, and he also does this thing where he comes up behind you and "flips" his nose under your butt. He does that mostly to DH. LIke he's goosing him.
  8. Oh my! I think this may have been what was wrong with my Hiro-hound. He got worse and worse until he got to the point where he couldn't stand up to pee any more. He went to the bridge the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I miss him, he was 12 years and two months when he was bridgebound.
  9. Please seek professional help, ASAP. When you went to the ER, they documented that you have a dog that bites. He has now been labelled as a "Bite Dog" and if he bites anyone else, he can be confiscated and then put to sleep. It sounds like you want to work with Ross, but that he may not be the best dog for you and your family. If you can't get professional help, please contact your adoption group about rehoming him.
  10. Today the couch, tomorrow the bed, the fridge, the TV remote. Tank, Tractor, and Max all share the couch. And they rotate through who gets to hop up in the bed. I don't have any idea about how they've decided the last part, but they've got a schedule.
  11. Tank whines when there's no room on the couch, or he wants up on the bed, or he wants a cookie. Or when he's hungry. No one else whines.
  12. Welcome, welcomefrom Gainesville, FL! Greyt idea on the research. Hope you find one soon.
  13. I've been off the list for a while. We've had some changes in our family. We adopted Tank, had to put Hiro to sleep, then adopted Tractor, all in the last two years. This is Tank This is Tractor This should be Tractor and Chris, please note they have the same smile!
