  1. Cosmo came from Southland. He raced at 86 lbs and came to me on 5 cups a day. He's down to three and weighs 88 now. We feed Fromms and rotate the proven sources every couple of bags. I had to take him off the yogurt, it was making NASTY RUNNY POO and the gas was horrid. I add coconut oil, fish oil, and he gets pb in a kong.

Best of luck adapting to each other.

  2. Alley turned 23 this year, I've worked with her since she was eight. She was colicky this morning, rallied a bit, and then was put down this evening because her gut twisted.

She wasn't mine on paper, but she was my "step-pony."

I am going to miss Crazy Alley.

  3. Yesterday was a tough day in our household as we had to make the decision to put Tractor to sleep. He slipped on Tuesday afternoon, walking down a flight of stairs into the back yard. X-rays showed a broken leg, secondary to bone cancer. We had no idea about the cancer. It was far enough along that there was really no other option for him.

So, Tractor, know that we loved you and that your smiling happy face is already missed by your canine and avian siblings. We miss you too and wish you god speed across the bridge.

  4. I switched back to Fromm's dog food when all of the things Iiked to feed my guys were on the recall list. Tractor's coat went from ok, to WOW HE GLOWS IN THE DARK. So, we'll be staying with their food. I can rotate protein sources, so that's good news. The bad news, I have to drive to Franklin, TN to get it, since no one in Murfreesboro carries it.

  5. Learned from Captain Jack:

    Who wants a cookie

    Oops

    Learned from me:

Houndies go! (ride in the truck)

Keith's coming (my guitar player, who is just a loud human being, it gives Mojo a chance to hide)

    Damnit Max

    No

    Leave it

    Who wants to poop outside

Mine! (stop asking for whatever it is I'm holding/eating)

    Waffles

Pretty simple, but I haven't really tried to teach them anything. They're smart and probably know more than what I think

  6. I have a dog like that. Patience and practice are things to remember. He took 8 months to get to the point where my husband could touch him. He took a year before he could tolerate being in the same room with strangers. Its only been in the last month or so that he doesn't run from the room when some of my loud musician friends come over. What helped Mojo was the fact that when strangers came over, they fed him meat treats. Nothing says loving like a chicken strip treat! I will have had Mojo for two years in July, just to give you a timeline. He still hides behind me when things are really scary, but he's getting better. Enough that he has gone up to strangers on his own to "ask" if they have any treats.

  7. Here's hoping that Saint Saint makes it to those pealy gates and finds all of his family that has gone ahead waiting to greet him with wagging tails.

Judy, I am so sorry for his loss. I'm sitting here crying. I loved seeing his pictures.
