  1. I've have and have used the Help Em Up Harness http://helpemup.com/ It's nice because it supports and has handles on the chest and hip/back legs. I was able to get my 85 lbs. boy, who couldn't step up at all at the time, up and down 8 stairs by myself with this. I know people have had success with putting a ramp over the stairs too.
  2. Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. You and Neko both tried so hard to beat this. It doesn't seem fair to lose him so young. I'm so sorry for the sadness and loneliness I know you're feeling. I'm sure Neko knows how much you love him and that you did everything for him, and he loves you too. He will always be with you watching over.
  3. Great picture! I bet the warm sun will help him fee better too. That's great that he is feeling good enough to get out a little.
  4. Aww, I love the beach pictures. I'm so happy he's feeling better today. Keep it up Neko! You are in my thoughts.
  5. Oh gosh, I'm so sorry. This must be so hard for you. The worst thing is having to think of saying goodbye. I hope that the prednisone kicks in and helps him. Sending lots of love to Neko.
  6. I'm just catching up on Leah's progress. I'm so glad she is getting better. This is one of my worst fears. My Zephyr was attacked while he was on leash by an off leash pit bull about 4 years ago on Christmas Eve right in front of our house. Some people were visiting at the house next door. I was taking him out for a walk. He has a few small scars, but it was nothing like what happened to you and Leah. He didn't even have to go to the vet. The fear and anxiety from that are still with me today, but it's gotten better. Luckily he pulled out of his collar and was able to run away down the street. The pit chased him. My neighbors were coming to help by then. Zephyr did get one bite back at the dog leaving a small cut on it's head. I had actually pet this dog once and it was very friendly, but I think the fighting is just in their nature and they don't stop. I tend not to walk on streets and go in the forest most of the time and I always carry pepper spray and my phone now. But, when something like that happens it's so fast I don't know if I'd be able to get the spray out in time. It's so sad and unfair that this happened to Leah. I hope you both continue to heal and feel better.
  7. I'm so sorry that Neko and you are going through this. I'm sure he knows you are doing everything possible for him and that you love him.
  8. Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I hope she heels quickly. Sending lots of positive thoughts to you and Leah.
  9. Great news that it's not cancer, but I'm sure it's still frustrating not knowing what's causing this. I'm glad the procedure went well. Sending good healing thoughts to Neko.
  10. I'm so sorry that Jimmie is having seizures. They are the wost! A few years ago my Zephyr had encephalitis and ended up having seizures. I live in northern AZ and we went to the Veterinary Neurology Center that is in Phoenix. That's probably the one your vet referred you to. They did a wonderful job and saved him. Just thought I would let you know in case you decide to go there. After he came I home I did have to use the liquid valium a few times with the syringe. It was a little hard to get in the bum because he was shaking so much, but I did and it worked. I bet the suppository would be easier, but I know one reason the liquid valium in the bum works so well is it gets into the system so fast. I wonder if it could do that in a suppository? Zephyr takes Keppra and hasn't had any problems with the liver. It's supposed to be better for that. I did use Denamarin when he was on other treatment for the encephalitis and pheno for the seizures and I think it helped. Sending good thoughts to you and Jimmie.
  11. I'm so glad he was feeling spunky today. Just wanted you to know I'm still thinking of Neko and sending my best thoughts to you both.
  12. That is awesome! My boy Zephyr was really sick 2 years ago. I remember how happy I was when he started doing naughty things like walking by and stealing a plastic grocery bag from the space between the wall and refrigerator and tearing it up. Needless to say he could do no wrong then, and still today, and develped a few bad habits.
  13. Wow, it sounds like Neko is getting some great help at OSU. I'm so glad he's at least stable. Hang in there with finals. Still sending good thoughts to you both.
  14. Thanks for the update. He sure is a handsome happy guy.
  15. Sorry you didn't get back the best news. I really hope they are able to figure out what's causing his troubles and treat it. Sending healing thoughts and hugs.
  16. I'm so glad he's doing well and resting. That is so unfair that he got hit in the chest, well it's all unfair. I hope you are able to get some rest too.
  17. I'm so sorry Neko, and you, are going through all this. He is a beautiful sweet boy. I'm sure he knows how much you love him.
  18. Aww, poor sweet boy. I'm so glad he's home and I bet he will start feeling better soon. Hugs to you all.
  19. Scary! Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Chevy! I know it will also be hard for you to recover after seeing something like that.
  20. Still thinking of you and sending good thoughts. Hang in there!
