  1. I just want to put in my 2 cents worth. 9 year old spayed female began having accidents/couldn't hold it/control it.  I began to give her this because there were so many great reviews on it and it was safe. (Of course vet sent urine off for detailed testing to make sure wasn't an infection etc. -which it wasn't.) Anyway this med 100% fixed her. She gets the regular am & pm chewy everyday and has been A-OK, no accidents etc. for 3 years now as she is 12! So I know this stuff works-at least on some dogs. https://www.chewy.com/vetriscience-vetri-bladder-soft-chews/dp/48737

  2. I have had dogs do that. I never thought anything about it and I am admittedly a mother hen.  Also nothing ever came of it. None of the dogs that did it ever had any respiratory issues ever.  I think she is most likely just clearing her throat.  Wait until you get one that has "drinkers cough."  Every time they drink they cough and hack quite a bit.  Absolutely normal my board certified vet told me. He said some of them just do that and it is  called "drinkers cough."  It also never caused any issues whatever to my hound.

Thank you for all the responses. I am going to wait until he's at least 2. Yes, he is AKC and has a great temperament. He was tough to train in the beginning, but has learned mannerisms and is slowly becoming a very obedient dog.

I honestly am even considering not neutering him because he has a great personality and gets along great with other dogs since he was raised with a whippet mix of mine. People are saying that I should though because he will get more aggressive and be prone to cancer much more. Any truth to this?

NO! The exact opposite is true. In the "old days" it was the rage to believe that neutering a dog fixed or prevented various behavior problems. However actual legit research and studies have now been done to show just the opposite! It actually makes various issues worse and can even cause unwanted behaviors.  Here is one of the study results from Psychology Today. There are others that draw the same conclusions if you want to bother looking them up.  Even medically it is a fact that dogs need those hormones to grow and develop properly. Take them away by neutering and studies have found that orthopedic problems logically arise. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/canine-corner/201805/neutering-causes-behavior-problems-in-male-dogs

  4. Hope you can get some rest squeezed in. So glad she is bouncing back. I'm so glad you were able to find an evet.  In some areas of the country dogs are actually dying because of no evets available.  When one of my working dogs ran a rod through his foot I wound up calling one (MedVet in OH) an hour and a half away.  I could not get the bleeding to stop. I had SEVERAL of the high tech coagulants like Hema-Block & Clot It.  They would seal the top of the wound and then just wash away when the blood came gushing out. So they were worthless. Anyway, MedVet said they would see me but to plan on a 12-18 hour wait in their PARKING LOT.  I told them I didn't know if the dog would last that long- since it was uncontrolled bleeding and you know what their response was? They hung up on me! Luckily I found one clinic to see him  ~ an hour and half away in the opposite direction.  Then another time that same K9- who is a Search & Rescue dog BTW- inhaled drugs during a search in Kansas City and went down and it was the same deal- no e vets available-they didn't even care he was a valuable SAR/police dog. Finally a small but kind clinic in Lees Summit MO (Green Summit Vet clinic) agreed to treat him and they were extremely professional and competent-even checking with a university vet for the proper protocol.  And by the grace of Dr. Jesus he healed from both episodes. It is just terrible how even emergency services are no longer available. The supply chain is one thing but a dogs life is something else entirely.

Here's to hoping you and Chris get back to sleeping peacefully again. :sleepy

Little Hada was the queen of her I Pee On Your Pee universe. Even if she'd come back inside after doing her business, if another hound went out she'd demand to be let out and follow them. That was often since my crew then didn't all go out at the same time. Since she was one of 5 dogs that left me to just be her doorman  because she just felt compelled to be the top tinkler by forces beyond my comprehension.

    :P

  6. Such beautiful coats! They look soooo warm! Lucky dogs :beatheart And they know they are gorgeous girls :inlove

I have 2 bridge angels that just LOVED dressing up.  Goldie was a brindle who particularly liked to wear coats, even raincoats, because he knew he looked so handsome when he did! He would really strut. And Cash- well she was a little jet black fashionista.  She adored anything dressy and frilly was a little socialite-quite well known.image.jpeg.11f2ac16419088367df816fb30b46753.jpeg image.jpeg.35e774edcf00750b6e332760aefd8c36.jpeg
