  1. Kari, I feed the pups their chicken quarters outside even in the winter unless it is way too cold then it is in the kitchen. They get a boneless meal of meat in the morning in their bowls in the kitchen. Sometimes in the summer, the wasps can get bad so they may get fed chicken quarters inside in the summer but not often.

I wish I was close to a place like Raws for Paws. I order cases of beef & pork heart from a Meat store here but the last time he got small cases (10 and 23 lbs vs 50 & 60 lbs). I also get some venison from friends when they clean out their freezers in the fall.

ETA: I have 2 upright freezers and a small refrigerator for the dogs!

I am so glad I got to see Rascal before he had to go. I enjoyed watching him enjoy his chicken drumstick you would hold for him and I love that last picture.

Catch up with Darbee-doo Rascal! ghrun.gif

  3. I was going to say you might run into winter weather in Montana but you realized that already! You checked the new road condition map page and I think it is way too busy and harder to read than the old one. The roads don't look that bad today!

  4. brokenheart.gif It's hard to read about dogs I don't know but even harder when I happen to know the dog. Lorinda, I am so sorry about Darbee-doo. grouphug.gif to you & your family (dogs & Hubby).

Darbee-doo - you will be missed.

Keeping you all in my thoughts hope.gif

  5. Has any one found that a dog may not want anything but raw meat?

Not my dogs, they don't turn their nose up at food of any type (mostly).

Mine are like that except Java doesn't care for Beef liver and Boo Zsee & Java don't care for kidney but other than that I have yet to see them turn down anything else.tongue.gif Kibble, raw. treats whatever!

  6. I have 3 greys, a mini schnauzer and 2 cats! I got my first grey as a companion for my schnauzer. 6 weeks later I adopted her littermate - couldn't resist getting a littermate. Boo Zsee looked at her sister and the look on her face was "I thought I got rid of you!" :P

I had them for almost 2 years, went to our group's picnic and came home with a lighter shade of brindle! There are times I think I am crazy (other times I know I am) when I am stumbling over dogs in the morning but I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am sure Boo Zsee would love a few less greyhounds but they all get along.
