My non grey was hypothyroid, and he had NO behavior changes whatsoever. It was his coat that made it very obvious he had a problem, and it seemed to go from glossy and beautiful to brittle and icky overnight!
Soloxine fixed him right up!

I realize that recently there has been a lot of news about raisins being "toxic," but my father has fed raisins (and grapes!) to every dog we've ever had for his 77+ years of dog ownership--and not one of them has ever had any kind of reaction!
I am sure that if a dog ate a big box of raisins they might well get sick, but they never bothered any of our dogs in moderation. We no longer give the dogs raisins, but please don't freak out!

Have you considered buying him one of those TheraPaw boots to wear?

My first thought was insects--possibly the heat "woke" something up that was laying dormant in the dirt? Could you possibly have had some kind of ants or something that might have bitten her? Seems specific to one area, so it is likely something that you, a mere human, cannot smell or hear.

I've heard a lot of vets who do a "dental" that doesn't include x-rays--which seem silly, particularly on a senior dog. Just because the tooth is scraped clean on the part that shows doesn't mean it's a healthy tooth!
And I was given all of my dog's medical papers, and one form showed he'd had his teeth cleaned, but another one said he had not...

Hi! My dog has high creatinine, even for a Greyhound. My vet did urine tests, and she said that they rule out a serious problem, and that the creatinine is probably actually normal for my dog.
Your case is a bit different--George's values have been high since I got him, and you said your dog's tests were always normal before.
You need to test the urine specific gravity and also whatever else they look for! My vet says if the urine tests are normal, then the high value is probably nothing to be overly concerned about.
Best wishes,
Susan and uninsurable George!

My dog (also George) also did not come with a tag despite it being a law in our state that all dogs be vaccinated and a tag issued. He had a clearly home made certificate that said "Greyhound Rabies Certificate" on the top, but my vet accepted that. He just had his first three-year vaccine last week, and now he has an official tag!
As my group explained to me, there is really NO CHANCE that they didn't vaccinate him for rabies--remember, the animal is there to hopefully make money, and they do need to protect their property.

I love my Dremel! I use the sanding band. Not sure what grit. I just do it every Sunday so they never get long, and it doesn't take long. George does not really enjoy it, but he tolerates it. I do it out on the balcony in hopes of annoying the Wicked Witch who lives in the condo beneath us who accused me of cruelty to animals for "keeping a big dog like that in an apartment."
Oy!
