  1. Thank God Trudy, I really didnt want to have to deal with the ex. I'm saved. Thanks again.
  2. Hi guys, me again. I hope its better now. If you give me a good gunshot wound to the head, I can take care of that easy. My computer is another matter. I hope I've got it small enough now. If not, let me know and I'll get my ex-husband over here and feed him into fixing it for me. Thanks again. Leslie
  3. These are my favorites of my bridge babies altogether. Bo, on the right was our first. She got arrested frequently by the MP's at Lakenheath AFB in England for chasing the bunnies. After being brought home in the back of the MP's squad car in disgrace, the kids on base knew that there was a reward for bringing her home before the po-lice did. Ryce, in the middle, was my heart hound. I lost him in June and I miss him desparetly. He was my gentleman and diplomat. He picked me for his own and I belonged to him completely. My large fawn, Jim, was the big poodlehead of the bunch. He came for a sleepover one night and simply never went home. He was my 88 lb lap dog. He could put the whole front half of himself up in your lap and not one hair on him would be touching the furniture. These three babies of mine did everything together. Bo Ryce Jim

    Rosceaux

My new senior girl hound, Milly, who has only been with us less than two weeks, woke me up this morning with lots of crying and whining and running back and forth to the family room. When I got there she was standing in front of the parrot cage crying. My 20year + nasty bitchy and loud mouthed blue front Amazon parrot, Rosceaux, was at the bottom of the cage. I knew immediately that she would not survive long as her breathing was shallow and labored. She spent her last hour on my daughters lap being cuddled and died very peacefully. Rosceaux was a fiesty green bird who liked to get in the shower with me and play in the water. Her temperment was that of a sullen , cranky, fowl tempered pit bull with feathers with everyone except me. She did not like men for some reason and would go to great lenghts to try and bite them. Whenever we had male visitors she would go under house arrest to keep bloodshed to a minimum. She did, however, have her softer girlie side. She loved cheese, any cheese and the smell of popcorn would drive her into a frenzy until she got some. She like to cuddle in my lap and she had a serious addiction to the TV show "Cops". Whenever she heard the Cops theme come on she would come down off the cage and stand in front of the TV until it was over. She loved to slide around on the tile floor being pushed by her tailfeathers and thought playing dragon was a scream. I will miss her screaming in the morning when she thought that I had slept long enough and her musty amazon smell and papaya and cranberries all over the place. I will miss cleaning all the sticky sweet potato off her face. I will miss the NOISE. I will miss my bird. Miss Milly gave me the opportunity to say godbye to my bird and allowed her to go to the bridge with her family there with her. To those already at the bridge --- Beware the cranky geen bird for evil this way comes.
  8. I sat a watched all the romp videos and enjoyed every minute of them. I only wish we had a safe place in Miami to do that in. Thank you for posting the link. It is great.
  9. I know that it must still hurt. The joy he gave you in life was more than the pain of his journey to the bridge. I know he must have been there to welcome my boy Ryce. Hold his memories close and he is forever there with you.
  10. Welcome from Miami I'm lucky, I have an ex-husband who is willing to stay with ours when we need to go out of town. Good suggestion checking with the LV adoption groups. Good luck on your move.
  11. In the middle of what was to be a fairly laid back afternoon, I had the good fortune to check my e-mails. My local adoption group Friends of Greyhounds had just sent out their monthly e-mail newsletter. The do not foster as they have the kennels. They did however want to find a foster home for a very sweet 10 y/o female. To make matters of adoption even harder, she had had a cancerous tumor removed. I am told it is slow growing type. Stitches still in place. A brief family meeting on the phone and a call to Michelle had us on the way to pick up our first planned foster flunk. Having lost my elder statesman Ryce in June I had not gone to get another. It just hadn't felt right. This post in the e-mail did feel right. Within an hour of the phone call my daughter, our girlie hound Isabella and I were at the kennel picking her up. Her tumor is slow growing, it was not attended to by her previous family. I'm waiting for the vet to fax the patho;ogy report to me and we will go from there. She is sweet, Gus and Isabella love her and have offered to share their stuffies with her and she has made herself at home.. May I present Miss Milly (oh how I love the senior girls)
  12. Hi and welcome from Miami. Very cool babies
  13. Thank you so much for sharing your sweet boy with us. Our heart hurts with yours.
  14. We love them knowing that at some point they will leave us. The joy they give us is so much more powerful than the loss. Bless our hounds for the loving souls that they have and that they are. May your hearts heal and may another hound come to fill you once again with joy.
  15. Sending hound hugs from our family to yours on the loss of your sweet girl.
  16. We are so sorry for the loss of your sweet Tully

    Henry

My heart cries with yours at the loss of Henry. My heart laughs because I look at Henrys picture and I see my boy Ryce waiting at the bridge when he crossed, with his rear in the air and a hound grin on his face, waiting to play and telling Henry he wasn't alone.
  18. Our hearts hurt with the loss of your precious Nellie. Hounds fill our hearts with joy when they come into our lives and remind us of the great love that they have given us when they leave.
  19. I know how hard it is to part with a most beloved senior Diane. Our "old" kids are the best! Hound hugs to help your heart heal
  20. Our heart cries with yours on the loss of your sweet Dodger
  21. As usual Jeff, YOU ROCK. I sit and wait quietly not daring to disturb the Universe, knowing that eventually you will make it right and then all will be right with the Greytalk world.
  22. But as usual, Jeff ROCKS! The center goes down and VIOLA! It only takes me a couple of minutes to find the temporary site.. Thanks again Jeff, for all the work and from deterring a massive withdrawal pandemic. (The CDC and NIH wouldn't quite know how to hanle it )
  23. Its very hard to lose a special boy. They are a part of your life, heart and soul. I firmly believe that those we have loved and those who have loved us are waiting when our time comes to cross the bridge. Our heart cries with yours
