Guest laura150
He was exploring something in our apartment, it fell, he ran away and it came down on the back of his leg (near his joint). It bled but it doesn't appear to be too deep. He's not limping on it. I cleaned it with soap and water and then with some water to clean off the soap.Is Neosporin OK to use for it? I don't have any doggy supplies yet for cuts and I'll get some tomorrow. In the meantime, what do I do? Neosporin? Let it heal on it's own? Guest jetska
I would just try to keep it clean with a bit of saline solution, but it should heal up pretty quickly if it's only a little cut, probably a week
tbhounds
Sometimes applying an ointment draws attention to the wound which may lead to licking. Keep it clean and dry (no peroxide). If it starts to look inflamed or starts to weep it may be infected-at that point you may need to see your vet for oral antibiotics. Can you post a picture??
