Guest HopeSLP
I adopted Pete six months ago, and it seems that just within the last six weeks he has truly come out of his shell and become a real pet. Petey snapped at me a couple of times in the beginning, and I was somewhat afraid for a short while...but now he is much more trusting, and in turn, so am I. He also just started playing in the backyard. Just be patient, loving and stern when needed. He will learn to respect and trust you. Be consistent. Over time, you will trust him too. Even though at times I wondered "What was I thinking?!" I can no longer imagine my life without Pete. It's a great process watching them change and adapt. Enjoy the ride
