took riley to vet for 6 month check up after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure in june. x-rays reveal heart has increased in size. vet put her on enalapril. hope to slow down process. only time will tell.

I thought your vet put her on enalapril in June? Did she not stay on it? Is she on any other meds?

 

Also wanted to mention that the Columbia specialty center recently added a cardiologist to their staff. If you're interested in a consult to find the best treatment options for your girl, you can ask your vet for a referral. Most dogs that have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure are managed with a combo of at least 2-3, if not more, medications.

 

I do realize that consulting with a specialist can get quite expensive, and especially with the distance, you may not be able to take that route - just wanted to throw it out as an idea. Best wishes for you and Riley.

riley has been on enalapril since june. now, she is on enalapril (1 1/2 daily) and lanoxin (1 per day). back to the vet in 10 days.

 

riley and wiki could pass as twins
