Guest cindysgold
My greyhound is holding her front leg up. She's been doing this for about 2 months. First she started limping. Now she holds her leg up and walks on 3 legs. We've had her at the Vet several times. He has done x-rays, had her on meds. NOthing is working. She has no chipped bones,No arthritis. Any ideas..Is this a greyhound thing ? Should I have him send her to a specialist. Thanks for any advice.
Sambuca
Has he tested for Lymes disease? Has he looked at the shoulder? Has he checked for corns? If your vet can't figure it out, I'd go to a specialist.
tbhounds
Time for a second opinion. It's not a greyhound thing--it's pain. Where are you located-- maybe others will chime in and give you names of GH savy vets in your area---did your vets check for corns??
Guest cindysgold
My Vet did check her shoulder. He did not check for Lymes disease. I'm in Indiana. Thanks for the replies.

JJNg
Just an additional thought...a pinched nerve or disc problem in the lower neck can also cause front leg pain and lameness. joejoesmom
You said your vet checked the shoulder -- did he x-ray it? If you don't have success with local vets, I highly recommend the team at Ohio State University. In addition to having great specialists, they also have greyhound specialists who are second to none. Depending on where you are in Indiana, it might even be a day trip. If you do need to come to OSU and need a place to stay, I would be happy to put you up.
