Roo to all! What a great forum. I wandered on here many times in the past and would lose track and come back and lose track---you know how it goes sometimes!

I think of how much information is available compared to when we were thinking about adopting our first greyhound here in Atlanta about 15 years ago. We tried to look up adoption groups in the Yellow Pages!!! We were almost headed to visit with greys in Alabama. Then, a friend mentioned they thought there was an adoption place not far from our home.

Lo and behold, Companion Greyhounds, nka Greytfriends, was about 6 miles from us! We went to see the dogs---they were coming right off the hauler. It was the first time we ever laid eyes on a greyhound. I remember standing in the acre fenced yard with all these huge, beautiful, friendly dogs running around in muzzles. One beautiful black male kept coming up to us, wanting to be petted. I never thought we would have a male dog, but Timber apparently realized I could be easily won over! And how we have loved our boys over the years.

Fifteen years and ten greys later, we owe a lot to our foundation hounds, Timber and Dakotah. They paved the way to changing our lives forever.

My sister also adopted greys. Both of us appreciate the personalities and gratefulness of the senior and special needs dogs.

So, thank you for the opportunity to learn on this great site. Also, I love the shopping forum!
