Guest cgl0909
Hello all! My husband and I are pleased to announce that we have a home visit this Thursday to adopt our first greyhound! We are very excited about this new addition. We are from a small town in Rutherford County, NC. We already have one baby, Elton. He is a year and a half year old border collie. We have both been wanting a greyhound for sometime, but just were not ready to adopt one until now. We are glad that the time is finally here where we can adopt! We are expecting to adopt a Grey named Eleanor. She is a 4 year old red brindle. We are glad that there is a place where we can find more useful information about the breed since we are new owners. If anyone has advice for a new owner we would love to hear it. Crystal and Andrew

Guest fargosmom
Congratulations!!!! Greyhounds are the best dogs ever ('course I'm a little biased). Get yourselves a copy of "Greyhounds for Dummies" . . . it's a great book and will help a lot.

PrairieProf
Welcome to GT! It's a great community. Here's a thread you might find useful: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...buys+worst+buys Eleanor is very pretty! Oh, and teach yourself how to post pictures here (most use Photobucket, it's very easy) because everyone will be clamoring for pics when you bring her home! Guest cgl0909
Thanks everyone for all of the warm wishes. I took the time to learn how to put pictures up so here is my first post with a picture. I would feel bad if you all never had a chance to see Elton. Here is our current happy family. We will try to put some new pictures up with Eleanor as soon as we can! PrairieProf
Elton and Eleanor -- what a cute pair of names! Elton looks like he will be a good running buddy for her -- not as fast, but no doubt more nimble on turns.
