Hello all!

My husband and I are pleased to announce that we have a home visit this Thursday to adopt our first greyhound! We are very excited about this new addition. We are from a small town in Rutherford County, NC. We already have one baby, Elton. He is a year and a half year old border collie. We have both been wanting a greyhound for sometime, but just were not ready to adopt one until now. We are glad that the time is finally here where we can adopt! We are expecting to adopt a Grey named Eleanor. She is a 4 year old red brindle. We are glad that there is a place where we can find more useful information about the breed since we are new owners. If anyone has advice for a new owner we would love to hear it.

:confetti Congratulations!!!! Greyhounds are the best dogs ever ('course I'm a little biased). Get yourselves a copy of "Greyhounds for Dummies" . . . it's a great book and will help a lot.

Eleanor is very pretty! Oh, and teach yourself how to post pictures here (most use Photobucket, it's very easy) because everyone will be clamoring for pics when you bring her home! :D

Thanks everyone for all of the warm wishes. I took the time to learn how to put pictures up so here is my first post with a picture. I would feel bad if you all never had a chance to see Elton. Here is our current happy family. We will try to put some new pictures up with Eleanor as soon as we can!

:wave I did not get to ttalk to you Saturday at Petco, but I am one of the volunteers/foster parents at FTH.

Here's a link to Eleanor: http://www.greyhound-data.com/db.php?i=131...time=1248689545

Are you the one who makes the collars? I know that they had someone there who does, but they were gone by the time we started looking at them. If you are we would love to know how to get in touch with you on getting one. I think that getting pretty martingale collars may become my new addiction! :)

Yes, that was me. Shannon can give you my contact info. Feel free to buy material and I can make whatever you want.

2 more days and your greyhound addiction becomes reality. :)
