Question About Treasure's Discharge Summary

Recommended Posts

I was just looking through Treasure's (my new greyhound) Patient Discharge Summary from Ohio State. It was included with her adoption paperwork. Everything looks fine but are a few things I don't understand...

1. Small erythematous area of alopecia ventromedial to the right eye.

2. Normal heart with sinus arrhythmia

What does this mean???

thanks

alopecia is balding, ventromedial should be on the bridge of her nose side, erythematous is red.

sinus in reference to the heart refers to the sinoatrial node that paces the heart rate. sinus arrhythmia is an increase in heart rate that occurs with breathing in. it's considered perfectly normal

Are you a Doc? PA? RN? Paramedic? :-)) Great and easy to understand answers to that question :-) Ex-medic here.
