Guest TurnerMiller01
Okay.. so most of you know my sad story about Turner.... and Well,,, How long did you really think we could stay away from greyhounds... not too long... So, we are simply foster this dog right now with the thought of adopting if all works out ... So,, far .. so good.. he is very friendly toward everyone in the house... more curious and more energetic than Turner... and does not seem as bothered by the boys... He is very inquisitive and actually went in to my 6 year old room to wake him for school this morning... We picked up Figgy last night... because i have the next 4 days off to aclimate(sp.?) him to his new home. Anyway... i have pics .. i want to share them.... He is simply just a cutie pie to us... Here is he getting ready for bed ... first night in his new home... on his new custom bed... my husband had this bed specially made with extra padding and extra long at his work... It's like the king of all dog beds.... nothing is too good for our New dog. Did i mention... I'm in love.
Guest TurnerMiller01
Welcome Home Figgy.... Figgy is very gently and very curious... Figgy will barely take the treat from my 3 yo hands... he is like so slow and gentle with him... Where as Turner was so so rough taking treats from the boys... So, i am hopeful that this is a good sign that he is a gentle dog ... We are having my 3 year old feed him dinner too. Anyway... this dog just happend upon us with a different rescue group in Allentown and well, he seemed to fit in.... ANd... so here he is... at home.... And.... One more neat thing happend today... that i have never seen before... We took Figgy up to our neighbors house today.. to meet their dog... and they have a fenced in yard... and so.. we took Turner there to run and play.. and he would not run around at all or play at all.. Today.. when i took off Figgy's leash and left him run and play with his friend.... OH WOW>......... It was stunning... beautiful to see him run............... he made their golden ret. looklike he was standing still... It was so neat to see him run... he was so happy to run and play with this dog.... it was beautiful.... it brought tears to my eyes... the kids just loved it and so did I. FOR EVERYONE..................................................................... WHY DOES HE KEEP LICKING HIS BUTT? I CHECKED IT... AND WIPED IT CLEAN.. I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING UNUSUAL. WHAT COULD IT MEAN? OR IS THAT SOMETHING GH'S DO??? I KNOW THIS MUST BE A SILLY QUESTION... TRY NOT TO LAUGH TOO MUCH. Keeping everything crossed that this works for you and helps heal your heart. Guest Kaquel
I've read that an itchy butt can equal worms (in humans too! lol). It may be nothing.

Guest Hollys2hounds
OH KRISTIN!!!!! WOW!!!! He sure is gorgeous!!! I am so happy for you!! (All)!!! Our very best wishes to you and your family. How long has he been off the track? Was he in foster care or a kennel for long? Regarding the dry skin, are you sure he isn't just nervous? My guys (both of them) both get flaky when they are nervous. Like magic it disappears when they settle down. It is visible on Gunner (Brindle), but on Lexy (is is black with a white tuxedo) it looks like snow on her!!! I do give them some fish oil in their food in the winter time, it seems they are ok in the spring and summer. Regarding the Butt licking, I would probably speak to the vet.... he may need to be wormed... Anyway.... I am just so happy for you!!! Hope to meet you all soon!
