Guest ThreeGreys
Good morning everyone and thank you for all the prayers for cheer and myself. We went to the vet again yesterday to draw blood to test her for DIC (disseminated Intravascular Coagulation) which could be why her platelet count is off. A biopsy has not been done yet but it is suspected that she has Squamous Cell Carcinoma which tends to arise in the jaw bones and that whats happening to Cheers lower jaw. I've started her on Turmeric and Essiac Tea, from what I've read Turmeric has been a help in any type of Osteo and even resolving the issue. Any input and direction would be greatly appreciated. Burpdog
Sending prayers. Artemisinin (there is a group on yahoo) has been used with success for those with osteo. Might help. Email Ohio State and ask Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits
Guest Energy11
Yes, I would definitely email Dr. Couto and his staff at OSU, and get their input on this. couto.1@osu.edu (Dr. C) or Greyhound@cvm.osu.edu (usually Dr. Marin). Good luck! D

Guest ThreeGreys
Good morning everyone; The vet called this morning with the results from Cheer's bloodwork. her plaelet count is slightly low but not abnormal like they originally thought. So the good part of all that is that she does not have DIC. I am going to have her get a biopsy done on Tuesday so we can conquer the next step. Thanks for all the prayers and advise. Keep them coming. John & Cheer
