X-rays And Morphine

Hi everyone,

Took Sizzle to the vet last night, she has a sore back. The vet wanted to do x-rays and give her morphine to relax her so she could get a good shot of the back.

Is this common? I know that sedation is sometimes common for an x-ray but is morphine really needed and is it ok for a greyhound?

I declined the x-rays last night. I know a vet that is a greyhound expert and I will get her in there next week. Unfortunatley I could not get her in there yesterday and Sizzle needed to see someone because I was worried!

Thanks!

Not that I am aware of but the vet who is the expert used to see her when she was on the track. He's the vet for Phoenix Greyhound Park. He has all her prior records and would know that.
