He is still eating, playing etc. but is losing some body mass in his hip area. I am calling the vet next week for an appt. Anyway, he makes this very odd throat sound. He seems like he is yawning or yacking but this "old man icky" sound comes out. Any ideas??? His teeth are really nasty and his breath has gotten very bad very quickly. Guest MyCody Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 Cody age 13 started with very raspy sounds from his throat and it has been diagnosed as Laryngial paralysis,his larynx is paralized on both sides. We have opted not to have surgery done, but keep him in a comfortable temperature, heat and cold are not good for him and makes him raspier and he ends up panting a lot.
