Guest giantsfan
Winnie was spayed one week ago today. She is recovering nicely, except that Friday and Monday I came home from work to find she peed on her bed. On Friday I thought maybe her not having a morning walk had thrown off her schedule, although she seemed to empty out right before we left for work. Yesterday, she had a walk and was let out - like her normal schedule for the last 2 months (when I didn't come home to pee). The fact that she's doing this on the bed is what makes me think that it is possibly spay incontinence. And it is not just leakage, it is a lot of pee. I'm going to see how she does today and then call the vet if it happened again, but I thought I would get some GT opinions while I wait. Thanks! Guest greybookends
Don't rule it out but don't assume that that is the problem as well. Take her to the vet and check first for a UTI and other possibilities that may be causing it. If there is no other underlying cause than yes it could be spaying incontinence and it can be controlled with meds. Good luck.
Batmom
What Lori above said. Could just be sore innards from surgery but always good to check. Hawthorn
Is she on any painkillers? Incontinence is one of the lesser-known side effects of some of the NSAIDs, such as Rimadyl. Guest whatahound
Nikki got a nasty UTI after being spayed. I'd check for that just to be sure.
