Houndmommy03
Silver has the Big D, poor baby. Just started this afternoon (thank goodness because I was gone all morning). He weighs 85 lbs - how much can he have? An adult dose? Thanks! Burpdog
I don't, and most vets will tell you not to stop them up until 48 hours have gone by. His body is trying to get rid of something. Unless you know for sure what is causing it.... 2 pills twice a day. You'd be better off giving him acidolphillus pills if you can Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits
Guest BlackandBrindle
I agree with Burpdog. I only give immodium if it's been going on for a couple of days. I'd also fast him tonight and feed bland diet in the morning.
Guest HeatherDemps
I was told by our vet not to use Immodium. We have a prescription for this since chemo is apparently to blame for Dempsey's issues with the big D. It is something that starts with "met" but can't remember the name at the moment! Houndmommy03
Thanks. I'll hold off on the Immodium at this point since he just started and I won't feed him tonight (that is not going to go over well with Silver!). I've got some acidolphillus - should I give him that? Thanks for your help! Quote <p>Kim and the hound - RumorMissing my angels Marlow, Silver, Holly and Lucky
Guest BlackandBrindle
Yes, I'd give it to him. Also, don't limit his water as he can get dehydrated from the diarrhea. Hope he feels better soon!
Burpdog
I feed boiled meat when they get the D. I'm easy Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits
