Guest ibeakila
Does anyone know if I could use my own insurance to get needles and insulin for my two diabetic pets, cat and greyhound?
Guest CindiLuvsGreys
My insurance doesn't cover my Diabetic cat so I would guess not. There are places that sell them fairly cheap though. My vet sells a box of 100 U40 syringes for $12.
cathys01
I'm pretty sure your health insurance is not going to cover medications or supplies for pets. I've certainly never heard of one that does! Quote Cathy, Van & Monita (and angels Kimmie and Dagger)
4greyhounds
I am a diabetic so I use part of my needles. But I don't think the insurance will pay directly for your pet. If it is your personal insurance. Quote Darlene Mom to: Aladdin, Sophie ,Pongo, Jasmine, Relic Forever in our Hearts Champ at the Rainbow Bridge. Guest laceyj
You can buy them with or claim them on your health care spending account though. This is sometimes referred to as a flex spending account.
Guest greyt_learner
Our insurance didn't cover needles or insulin for pets, but it was quite cheap to get them at costco. The most expensive part was the special diet dog food which you can only buy through the vet.

Guest RICHandJUDE
I am afraid not. I spend more on my WELL 3 dogs per year for exams etc. than I do on myself in 3 years. People insurnace is for people and pet insurance is for pets. You can't go to your doctor and use your pet insurance to pay.
