gracegirl
Crate is coming out of the closet now. I was at the doctor this AM and came home to find Fenway had gotten into the Duralog! Seriously???!!! Anyhow, I poured some Hydrogen Peroxide down his throat and let him puke it out. I'm cleaning up the duralog mess (he mostly shredded it instead of eating it)....but my question is should I give him some cookies to settle his stomach? He's trying to eat grass outside, should I let him? Anyone in the greater Seattle area want a puppy for Christmas? He's on loan for 6 months, once he's a good dog again I want him back. gracegirl
I hope he feels better too....he's giving me a very pathetic look. Stupid, stupid me for not putting the duralog away. I told him last week when he pulled down my blinds that he got one more chance before the crate was coming out of storage. We're going back to the crate now. Then he can graduate to the muzzle with a poop cup. He was soooooo good for soooooo long.....I don't like this teenage boy stuff! Guest MnMDogs
OMG, he must be related to Mork!!! Mork ate a good chunk of a duraflame last year. I called the manufacturer and he assured me that there were no poisins in there, just wax and cellulose. We did induce vomiting (as we've done MANY times with Mork). However, he remained fairly unwell for the next 24 hours, with several instances of vomiting. We did end up at the vet the next day for xrays (clear) and Sub Q fluids. I assume it was related to the log ingestion, as he'd never been ill after the other gazillion times we had to make him puke with peroxide. Oh, and Mork's 8... it may not be a puppy thing! Hope Fenway is feeling better.
Guest BooMooandDoo
I think he really dug that candle the other day and wanted more wax I can't help but laugh . . . cause I warned you
Guest BlackandBrindle
Poor Fenway. Personally, I'd not let him eat anything (cookie wise) and just let his tummy settle, but I've never had to induce vomitting in my two, so I don't have first hand experience. Sadie is FOUR and has to wear a muzzle
Guest MnMDogs
Oh, I missed the part about cookies to settle his stomach, I was so shocked that there is another dog that loves duraflames. When we've had to induce, we've given white/no fiber bread to get something in there. I'm not sure how much Fenway puked, but with Mork he ends up vomiting bile by the end of it, so the bread should help.
Guest trevdog
Poor Fenway! There must be something in the air these days. Dallas is back in her xpen, I came home last night to a chewed armrest on the couch in the dog room. Last month she chewed a hole in the wall in the dog room. Oh well, Dad does drywall repairs and I wanted to get the couch recovered....but wasn't planning on doing it now. Hope he feels better soon, I'd let him eat some grass, he may still need to get rid of something.

Guest CindiLuvsGreys
Poor baby. I would give him just a bit of water at a time and some plain bread. Hopefully that will suck up some of the stomach acid. I hope he is feeling better soon.

I'll let Fenway out in a bit and give him some dog treats. I guess I could go to the cafe and get some bread too. Ugh! What was he thinking???? On a side note, this might make him hungry enough to eat a full meal at dinner tonight! He doesn't want kibble, but he wants wax instead. patricia
Poor baby. When Cody Angelo snatched up Flashy's dropped pills in a meatball we had to induce. Of course it is 4:00am. The ER vet said to fast Cody Boy for 4 hours after. He was a pretty hungry and a sad little boy until he got some food in his tummy and his own meds! Fasting until this afternoon, then a handful of cookies, and then dinner tonight. And a muzzle or crate from now on. We were on the "three strikes you're out" policy, Fenway is OUT!
