Happy Tail

George has a fresh Happy Tail.

As I stated in a different post, the process of unbandaging and re-bandaging turned out to be a bit of hassle, requiring 3 people and a lot of pain, paitence and praise.

This begs the question -- how often should we change the bandage on this happy tail? Often (to keep the dressing clean) or less often (so we don't keep irritating the wound and the dog)?

Thanks,

Chris

IIRC, I changed mine (well, Batman's :lol ) every day for first 2-3 days, then every other day (once), then third day (once), then 5th or 6th day (several times) if I could get it to stay on that long. I was able to leave a little opening at the very end of the tail so it was easy to check if bandage was too tight or OK. I continued to bandage until a week or two after it healed and the scab came off. Then for a couple months I would bandage for special events -- car trips, etc. where I thought he might be wagging his tail around a lot.
