  1. How can a dog that I will never meet, and people that I do not know in person manage to touch my heart so deeply? It is a testimate to the strength of Miss Nellie that her life and her passing have had such a profound effect on so many people. We are all on this earth for a reason, and maybe Miss Nellie's reason was to involve all of us in her fight against this disease. Perhaps we will all fight just a little bit harder to help find a cure after following the journey of Miss Nellie. Maybe each of us will hold our own hounds a little bit closer tonight and give thanks for every day we have with them. Maybe when we have to face the unthinkable, we will remember the strength and courage that Miss Nellie and her family showed in their battle.

Brian and Suzie you have also been couragous. You gave Miss Nellie the benefit of having tried everything there was to try. You can take comfort in the knowledge that you and Dr. Couto gave it your all. Sometimes though, there is not enough that can be done here on earth, and we have to make the most difficult of decisions. She knew how much you loved her. She will never be forgotten.

Run free Miss Nellie. There is a special spot reserved just for you at the bridge. :f_pink

  2. For the amount of time/effort/expense that vets put in to their education I would expect that they live in a nice house. Just because you love animals and want to dedicate your life to helping them does not mean that you want to have a lower standard of living compared to other professions.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure that your memories of Larry will bring you comfort in the times ahead, but for now your hearts must be broken. Larry is at peace, and pain free. He would want you to focus on the good times, not the sad days of this week. Keeping both Larry and his skin family in my prayers,

  4. Hey Jeff,

I am primarily a Mac user, and I have been unable to use the poll feature. It shows up when I am on my laptop, but not my Mac. Am I doing something wrong, or is this feature just not available to Mac users?

Thanks for everything you do for us on this board. Your efforts are very appreciated.

P.S. Is spell check available for Mac users? I use Firefox as my browser if that makes a difference.

  5. I am very sorry to hear about Annie. It sounds like she was a very special girl, and you were priveledeged to have been a part of her life. A soul like that will never be forgotten. The pain of today will eventually be replaced with the wonderful memories you have of your girl when she was strong and healthy. Give it time. It will happen - I promise you.

  6. I am very sorry for your loss, but happy for Solomon that he got to live in a home with someone who obviously loved him very much.

Tears today, but later the happy memories will make todays tears worthwhile.

  7. I am so sorry for the loss of your baby. Today your heart is full of sorrow and pain, but in the tomorrows after tomorrow your load will lighten with the wonderful memories that Big brought to your life.

Giving my two a hug for Big,

  8. Someday, may the joy and comfort of your wonderful memories of Scarlett replace the sadness and anger and pain that you are feeling today. May God bless Scarlett and your family.
