  1. There is NO WAY we can read everything - which is why things slip by us sometimes and why there is a report button - we hope you will use it and bring something we have missed to our attention (or make it so we see it faster).

We do try to look at as much as we can, but have you seen how many new posts we get a day!!! TONS :lol

If something has a lot of views/replies, we try to check it out to see "why" it has a lot of traffic.

So even though there are a few of us, we will miss things.

  2. Salemgrey....I am having some difficulty locating any info on Kiowa Whipper....there is a Kiowa Whisper in the database.....could there be some mixup?

That was what was on her adoption papers.

I have her tatoos (well, she has them :lol) so I can call the NGA next week and ask them if that is the correct Dam.

  3. Jet - LPB Linda's Jet (sire:BB's Indian Scout; Dam: Kiowa Whipper)

Ryan - Hallo Aristocat (sire: T MC'S BROKER; Dam: LEO'S GLORIA) I have his yellow registration slip (came in his adoption packet), so I have some info on him

    Ryan - greyhound Data

Ryan raced at Hinesdale - his trainer sent his record with the adoption packet to the adoption group.

Jet - didn't race as far as the adoption kennel knows - she retired somewhere between 18-21 months.

  4. I've noticed the lumps on either side early in the morning. I don't know if it is just that he is a tab bit excited or really ahs to pee. I see them at other times as well and let him out.. he pees, comes back in and they are gone.

Maybe I just have a very "happy" hound :lol

  5. The dog's digestive tract is very short and the digestive enzymes are very strong. Things that woudl kill a human don't even phase a dog.

This could be why I was home sick with food poisoning yesterday and Jet was fine!

As for the BARF diet... read read read read talk talk read some more. Do a lot of reasearch (both pro and con) and decide what is best for you.

  6. I'm so sorry to hear of Justin's accident.

Hindsight is always 20/20. It was an accident, try not to beat yourself up too hard. There was no way you could have known he would run into the fence that hard.

Even though he was only with you a short time, he knows how much you guys loved him.

You will be in my thoughts.

  7. Greyhounds are anti-social towards people and other dogs.

Depends on the dog, but seems the majority of them adjust well to home life and are happy socialable dogs.

among young children: Greyhounds only get to drink water, they don't get fed, so they are skinny.

eating comments have been posted above... they can eat like hogs - anything and everything in sight or they can be very picky at times too (just like any other dog - or human).

  8. Jan... how does Jacob feel about have a picture of his butt posted for all to see?  :cry

From what you said happened and the look of his leg, it is probably just a strain that left him with a big bruise. As long as he seems to be walking and laying down okay, I wouldn't worry about it much.

If it gets bigger in the next day or so, it is worth the call/visit to the vet.

Maybe call the vet anyway to see if there is anything to do with a strained muscle (not sure if you would ice a dog or not).

Hope he isn't too embarrassed by this pic!
