  1. Logan has always had a big blackhead patch on his belly. At times he will get a big red spot, the vet has tested them and said they were nothing to be concerned about, the area was just irritated. So last night I noticed a big red bump, it didn't seem to bother him so I was just going to keep an eye on it. So I get home tonight and see this. ???????

The red bump was below this giant red area at the top of the blackhead patch. It looks as if it may have burst. You may notice another larger red bump to the right of the ruptured one.

    So what is this?

  2. This is sad, but this is the first time I have voted in a poll. For me, I would rather not know and have the decision made for me. When we lost Siren, it was sudden. We had no idea something so serious was wrong with her and the call knocked me on my backside. My DH had to pick me up at work and we drove to the vet in hysterics.

With Profit, we knew she was in pain but knowing when she was ready to go to the bridge was the most difficult decision we have ever had to make. We struggled for weeks trying every option to offer her comfort. I hope we never have to make such a decision again. I question to this day if we waited too long or if we could have done more.

For me, I want the decision made for me.

  3. Last night when I went to let Gypsy out, she went flying out after a bird. I heard her hit the patio door on her way but she never stopped so I went about my business. When I was checking her feet before letting her in I saw all the blood. She has about a 1/2 inch cut right on her knuckle on her rear foot. She doesn't even seem to know she did anything. I was able to stop the bleeding fairly quickly with direct pressure. Since she is not concerned with it I decided not to wrap it. She woke at 1:30 and was acting funny so I let her outside and she tended to business and came back in and went back to bed. I checked her foot at that time and it felt wet, it wasn't bleeding. This morning I took a better look at it and it is oozing a clear liquid with just a little blood. Should I take her to the vet? Is this normal? Does she need a couple of stitches? Sorry, no pictures yet. I took a bunch late last night but she was wagging and wiggling so they all look blurry to me.

  4. We had tickets to the ballgame last night with fireworks after. Gypsy is still a little thunderphobic and the fireworks have been setting her off the last few days. She has made greyt strides in this area and I thought she would be OK while we were out. Well, long story short, we had a rain delay and we didn't even get to stay and see the fireworks. When we got home Gypsy was a wreak. I didn't notice how bad she was because I discovered a pee spot and let her out while I tended to that before checking her out. Once I let her back in, I immediately saw that she was in bad shape. She had stressed herself silly and was burning up. I quickly soaked some towels in water and covered her from head to toe. When that didn't work quick enough, I put her in the tub to cool her down. About 40 minutes later she was nearly calm and we all went to bed. She slept through the night and ate well this morning. Hindsight being what it is, we should not have left her alone on the 4th of July. :kickbutt My question is, did I do everything I should have once she was in this condition?
