Just successfully replaced the batteries in our loop. Had my engineering student son for support. Required cutting the heat shrink wrap, prying apart the 2 white pieces (breaking the seal), then had to use a solder gun to remove the 2 batteries, and solder on new batteries, used silicone glue to re-seal the device and heat shrink wrap to seal the wires. Works! <$10 fix including solder gun and batteries
