So my DW came home to dried blood on the floor out side of the crate.
Dino was normal happy and no sign of anything wrong,no blood him, but he didn't have is tag collar on.
He is normal happy, Ate, Drink, pee and pooped all normal.
To the vet nothing, wrong. Maybe bloody nose sneeze or maybe bloody pee.
Well just chased him around the back yard with a solo cup and there is no blood in his pee.
Any ideas?

So Dino is feeling better. Still a little swollen but he asked to go for a walk just now and no limp.
So Dino is feeling better. Still a bit swollen but he asked for a short walk and no limp.

Vet said most likely a insect or spider bite nothing felt out of the ordinary and no sensitive spots. Vet also gave him a shot to help with the swelling.

We found a vet that will take us at 10am so we are going to go and see.
Dino followed me downstairs and is now resting but not that comfortable.

So we are at out in laws in Buffalo NY and Dino wakes up early to go for a walk.
So I take him out at 5:30am and we get a few houses down and he steps into one of the fron beads cover in ground cover.
I don't. Know if he stepped on something or if a car going by spooked. Him but he came up limping.
I checked the fron paw for debrie didn't find much normally he walks it off, but he doesn't. And now it looks swollen and he won't let us ice it for mor then a few sec.
Waiting for a vet that my DW anut uses to open.
Thanks,
Ryan

I have had good luck with walking introductions.
They way it was explained to me is you have one dog on leash and have the second dog come up from behind and allow a walking sniff and then walk for a bit and then switch position allowing the other dog gets a walking sniff.
The walk after that is normally pretty mellow after that, also never hearts to have a tired dog.
The
mostan important thing is to not be nervous the dog will wonder what is wrong.Ry

Dino did ok at first he was nervous but he settled down and enjoyed his kong and even napped a little. Still popped his head up when things got loud.
He was so relaxed when we went up to bed at mid night he acted like he wanted to stay in the basement. went down to check on him he seemed confused, so I asked him to come up stairs and he did and wanted to make one trip outside, then something spooked him and he was upset then circled.
I got him to head up to the bed room when he stumbled on the stairs making the anxiety a little worse. I got behind him and let him know were his feet were and then he went up ok.
Got to the the bedroom and he laid down but that didn't last keep wanting to leave, so went back to the old stand by, put a blanket in the walk in closet and he went right in and laid down and sleep there all night poking his nose out this morning to see if we were up.
He seemed a little off this morning not begging for breakfast. He ate just fine when I called him.
went for a walk and we are back to normal
it was better then last year so success... sort of

well tonight there were fireworks near by and things went Ok.
Dino wanted to investigate nervously but after a few trips up and down the stairs I zipped Dino in and He laid down and was Nervous for awhile then napped they stared at us.
Now after a little coaxing he is sleeping in his bed in our room. so far so good we shale see how tomorrow night goes.
Thank everyone for your input.

Dino is not that bad with T storms he once to be in his crate but will settle down and sleep but fire works are different.
The first time with fire works I tethered him to me and he pulled me sliding down the hall I am 6ft 200lbs.
We hope the basement will help with the sound
Thanks

Dino get ears cleaned with a anti fungal cleaner from the vet I do it once a month or so.
normally one of the ears is dirty not wax but dirty the anti fungal cleaner make it so one a month is enough if i use opti clear I need to do it once a week or so.

So Dino is not a fan of fire works we have dealt with this three time the normally mean I sleep on the floor of the walk in closet with Dino.
This 4th we have a plan
Step #1 Thunder shirt
Dino is a very big boy and very long I don't know how well it fits looks short to me.
Step #2 out fit the basement
normally its the DW work out room as i am fat and lazy now. now it has his soft crate and an old bed and for the homans moved the futon out so we can watch movies
Step #3
For movies
Step #4
positive reinforcement about the basement Dino is not a fan of the basement its were he gets his winter bathes so today DW took him by the collar and he got to have a few treat and a bully stick, but once he notice me he took the treat upstairs to enjoy it in peace.
Wish us luck

So Dino joined my DW and my self a little over a year ago, a 4.5 years old beautiful brindle boy, and what a year it has been.
So a little about Dino (Mani Mongone) or Mongo to his foster mom. Dino is a very big boy and talk about a gentle giant he raced at 82 lbs all 102 races.
When we met Dino for the first time his foster mom opened his crate and we expected him to come flying out, but no he stood up and stretched.
After his Doggy yoga he slowly walked around the room and sniffed everyone and got a few scratches when he got to my wife, who I quote "can we get a small female", I watched as Dino paused at her and she petted his head and I watched her hart melt. She looked at me and that was the end of it.
We took him for a short walk and my DW asked if we could take him today.
Fast forward a few weeks and Dino decided he didn't like sleeping alone at night, a few sleepless night and a soft crate later Dino was sleeping in the corner of our bedroom, not a problem but stairs were a confusing to him. So a few weeks of carrying Dino up and down stairs before he figured it out.
A few months later and we celebrated Dino's fifth birthday and he discovers frozen yogurt.
He also has master the art of retirement and has turned in to a very lazy hound
well sort of
he is learing about toys:
well sort of
Dino also enjoy show and I think he prefers the cold, but we do our best to keep him warm
along the last yea Dino also welcomed a little brother home who he tolerates.
Dino has even pitched in to help with the upcoming Easter Holiday playing his part as the Easter bunny.
I think this should have enough pictures for now, and Dino says he to everyone.

I'm going to have to hijack this thread. Very interesting. You just described my Jasmine of the same sire. I guess not too small a world when you consider Kiowa Sweet Trey has almost 15,000 offspring.
Including my Dino who raced at 82lbs and is now a not so skinny ~90lbs

Dino doesn't every eat his ropes toys, he isn't interested in them these days and doesn't get tug. Dino will chew on a rope toy some times Dino Gets a frozen Kong stuffed with apple or bananas with a few small pieces of biscuit at the bottom, caped with a little, ether peanut butter ( ingredients peanuts only), or kong spray then frozen.

Blood Outside Of The Crate

Thanks everyone collar will be off in the crate for now on and back to video taping him during the day.
DW moved the crate and fond more blood on the blinds next to the crate.
Yes I sort of wish Dino could talk, but if he could he would probably complain abut the overly affectionate bald guy who is always petting and huging him.
