Trainers Choice doesn't really heat up like many liniments do. It's just not that strong. It's not bad just to relax the muscles a little but there are far better choices if you think your dog is running hard enough to get sore. I like using Tuttles Elixir mixed with Absorbine Jr myself. I try all the liniments we use in the kennel on myself to see how well they work.

It's not that uncommon. We usually just soak it in epsom salts several times a day. They heal up pretty fast.

Looks like you have some kind of bizarre growth on your shoulder there in that last pic Jeff.

I just started muzzling all of them (I have four) so I am wondering how many they are going to be able to get now
Might slow them down a tad but they can still get them with a muzzle on. I was sprinting dogs one morning on the track and one of the dogs made a sudden stop on the backside and then came trotting over to me. He had, not one, but TWO bunnies in his teeth, through the muzzle. He did drop them but it was pretty funny to see him prancing around with them. They both hopped off the track doubletime. The other dog never even saw them.

You could have him checked for damage or injury to the digital sesamoid bones in that foot. That can cause the toes to start rubbing together and can be treated fairly easily with injections and topical ointments of steroids or other anti-inflammatories. It's not hugely common, but it does seem to happen more often in greyhounds and rotties.

Here's another supplement that works really well. Stat. A lot of vets will have it, especially those who deal with large animals. Farm supply places should have it too. Or you can order it. KV ships pretty quick.

How high off the ground is your balcony? Less than 4 ft. is nothing to a grey who gets interested in something on the other side. Granted, most greys are not jumpers, but there are few that couldn't make it over a wall only 45" high.

No problems here. The compatibility thingie seems to have fixed my issues.
-
Yep, the compatibility thing fixed it all. thanks

I was just in the chatroom with Anne. There is no box for text, but if I hit the B I or U, I could type, it would show up with the little in front of the sentence. I couldn't see what I was typing though. Like typing with invisible ink

I wouldn't feed him anything tonight. Just make sure he has access to all the fresh water he wants. No sense in adding more food to an already irritated digestive system.

Well, clearing everything didn't help but did have some interesting side effects on my start menu. Doesn't really matter, I'm used to it now and it doesn't bother me to have the box floating around. It still works the same.
-
It's doing the same for me after a hard refresh. I use IE8

Ace is to NEVER be given to a greyhound or any sight hound for that matter. I'm really surprised your vet didn't know this. Also, Boxers don't tolerate it well. I know some say it's ok in small doses...but why take the risk when there are other drugs to use? Amitriptyline can be given to greys and helps or valium if needed. I am so glad she is OK
Sorry but I'll go along with my vets, all of whom have been treating hundreds, if not thousands of track and pet greys for decades. Ace is okay with proper dosing.
-
We've been using Ace for years in greys at reduced dosages with no problems. It's the dosage, not the drug that causes the problems. If your vet isn't aware of the issue, inform them even if you are planning to leave their practice.
-
Fingers crossed that it's something that can be resolved quickly on a happy note.
-
I'm so sorry Robin.
-
We've used it in the kennels occasionally, it works very well and we haven't seen any side effects.
-
Ask your vet about SMZ-TMP (Bactrim). We've had a lot of success with using it for UTIs that won't completely clear up on the more often prescribed antibiotics.
-
You'll be greatly missed by everyone who knew you, little man. I'm so sorry Angela

There might be more coming. Usually they throw up a couple of times, just little ones after the first.
-
The consensus you're reading is wrong. They can get huge bruises, just like us.

That's scary. Best wishes that she makes a rapid recovery with no lasting ill effects.

We use methyltestosterone in the kennels to prevent them coming into heat. Cheque drops are Mibolerone and have more side effects. There may be someone out there using them, but nobody I know. If you can get her into the vet tomorrow, it's probably not to late to start her on a course of Ovaban, they take it for 8 days and will shorten the cycle and prevent them coming into milk. If she cam in on Monday, thursday would be the latest you can start her on it.
