  1. Oh no. I am so, so sorry. I always thought Bauer was one of the most handsome and sweetest looking greyhounds. I know how much he meant to you, and I can't even imagine how hard it is to lose him this way. I will keep your family in my thoughts, please take care. :heart

  2. Jey,

I am so very sorry :cry1 Batman was one of all of our favorite hounds, he just seemed so regal and sweet at the same time. And nobody will ever forget that handsome roman nose. I am thinking of you and Zema, please take care. :heart

    Love,

    Lucy

  3. Judy,

I don't know how I missed this until now...but I am so, so sorry to hear of Jim's passing.

I too will always remember your stories of him and the gorgeous pictures you have posted over the years. I have always thought that the one of him in his PJs on a big comfy bed was just the cutest. It was obvious to us all that he was a special boy.

    Take care, much love :heart

  4. :cry1 That was beautiful Mel. You both were lucky to have found each other :beatheart

I have to agree, I only met Prancer for a few short days, but he was so obviously a special guy. He was just a total sweetheart.

Shaun and I still talk about him and how sad we are that he is gone. He was very happy to hear that Prancer brought you Blitzen.

    Take care! :grouphug

  5. :weep:weep I am so very, very sorry to hear this. We all felt like we knew Lady Sophia through your pictures and stories. We all have a piece of her in our hearts. She was such an incredibly special greyhound and she has shown so many people what joy seniors can bring.

We are all here for you. Please take care of yourselves. :beatheart :beatheart

  6. This is what I understand about worms - but I could definitely be wrong!!

There are all types of intestinal worms (heartworms, whipworm, roundworms). Heartguard and Interceptor prevent against them all except tapeworms. But I think if they already have worms it is not a high enough dose to kill them - only to prevent them. These types of worms are very contagious and it is important to clean the yard right away so the other dogs do not get them. If one of your dog has them you should worm them all. These are the more dangerous types of worms and can be hard to get rid of.

Then there are tapeworms and they are transmitted by injesting flea larvae. I was told by a vet that keeping them on Frontline will prevent them from getting tapes. I guess it is still possible to get them though if they injest it before Frontline can kill it. With tapes they are not passed on to the other animals unless they also injest a flea egg. These are the worms that you can see in their poop. They look like little rice pieces and are sometimes around their butt as well. These are not very harmful to the dog and can be easily treated with droncit.
