  1. I don't have any advice but many, many years ago we had a little 9 lb IG that could leap our 4 foot chain link fence in a single bound!

She kept ending up in our front yard. We searched the fence for holes, areas where she might have dug under, etc.

Then my husband stood on one side of the fence shaking a box of milk bones. Lauren the IG ran over and saw him standing on the other side of the fence. Then she saw the box of milk bones, and BOING! She was over the fence! :lol

Our little IG was the best watch dog I've ever had. She heard everything and would bark up a storm letting you know about it.

  2. Carla, I am so happy for you and your family!!! :clap

Minnie is absolutely precious....that second picture of her is priceless--she looks like she'll be so much fun!

After Robin passed away, Toby was just kind of "blah" and not himself, and I really needed some happiness in my life.

Just because I was grieving did not mean that I couldn't open my home and heart to a hound that needed a family.

Everyone needs to do what they feel is right for them, but I was so happy adopting a few weeks after our loss.

Wishing you all many joy-filled years! :)

  3. Thanks everyone, I was worried about renaming him, but he looks like his name, so we will keep it !!!

He did well in his crate last night. I slept on the couch next to him and he didn't make a peek all night til 730ish this am, he got up. LOVE HIM

That's great! And what do the whippets think of him?

  4. Carla, what a gorgeous, beloved girl your Jonelle was. It's evident from the pictures that she had a wonderful life with you guys, filled with lots of fun and love.

Thank you for sharing the tribute video with us. It was hard for me to watch, because she reminds me so much of our Robin, who I still grieve over terribly.

    Sending hugs to you today.
