  1. It is WindsDay ebberbuddy!  And the sun is shining and it is going to be a beautiful day.  And it is even gonna be bedder now that we no FancyToo is gonna be okay!  It is crazy how fast those tick diseases cause isshoes.  Menny yeers ago, Dante went from fine to sagging hindquarters in one day.  He got a month of doxy and was just fine.  We hope your eggsperience is just the same.

Ebberbuddy's noo collars luk so nice!  I am happy with my noo tag collar, too.  But, I am happier with all the noo treets!

Your yard is lukkin' gud, AndiPants!  Our deck is gonna be blown up for a while because the conversion from screened porch to sun room is starting!  :brushteeth is bizzy taking all the screening off and then will remove the ceiling.  BossLady's brudder (a home improvement contractor) and her fodder are coming up tomorrow for a cuple days to get the noo framing and electrical done.  Most of the bilding materials are in our garage.  It will not be vary big, but it is gonna be BossLady's space and she is eggsited!  Not UPcited is gud way to describe it, too, Jupe!  :rofl Sints it is negst to our deck, the deck is blokked frum me and nutjob so we don't go thru the porch and out into the yard and beyond.  BossLady locked the door to the porch and put stuff in front of it so nobuddy tries to go out that way without thinking things thru.

Our house wall habs been figst.  It is alreddy painted and gud to go.  The carpet guys were heer yesserday and replaced the carpet - but like ebberyfing else with this job, it ran into snags.  They did not habs enough to recarpet the closet and it is special order, so the closet hasta wayt.  BossLady is back in there with her desk and computer and off the dining room table.  Puppy steps!

Then, when all this is done, :brushteeth's sisser is coming back and bringing *her* nutty dog so he can lose his liddle peebrain running around with our peebrained dog.  I am planning on getting sum reely grate sleeps!  Then, they hafta think about remodeling the hall baff to make it a walk-in shower.  Retirement is becoming a distant dreem.  This conversion to help the disabled is stoopid eggspensive, as y'all know!  That baff is not ADA compliant and when he is wheelchairing, he will hafta go libs sumware else.  I bet Lacy wud just lubs a wheelchair and wud roll around with him like it was a chariot or sumthing.  Hek, her faborite chair in our house rocks!  I TOLD you she is cray-cray!

chArlie, nobuddy wudda standed still for that bunneh.  Lacifur loses her sheetshed ober them and they are all ober the plase around heer!  Nice and fat, too.  I am gessing they are reddy to bring eben moor into this whirled.  :brushteeth is gonna hafta be careful mowing the yard.

Lupin your burfday weekend sounded grate and your pictures are just perfect!  Glad you hadda grate time.  I am jellus that your furs are still so black and shiny.  My face is now white and grey - BossLady habs rubbed all the black off.  Plus, lets face it, libbing heer is gonna age ennywon rather quickly!  :rotfl

Ennyway, things are bizzy, so I gotta go.  Habs a gud day!

  2. It is MoneyDay ebberbuddy!  And BossLady says she hasta do sum gud MoneyDay werk as she spent lots of it ober the weekend!  We hadda grate time!  Eggspecially ME!  That toadlly sooprized BossLady and :brushteeth as last yeer, I was not innerested and did NOT wanna be there.  Too much noise and confusion.  They assume that now that Lacifur is heer, there is ALWAYS noise and confusion in our house, so mebbe I am usta it!  :rofl  But, lemme tell you poor houndies hoo habs not had the chance to attend GIG - there are scritches and pets and ear rubbies EBBERYWARE!  And treets?  Oh My DOG, treets and treets wareebber you go!  Pure doggie hebben.  On FriedDay and SatonDay, when it was time to leeb, I did NOT wanna go home.  I kept pooling :brushteeth to go back into the big hall.  BossLady was terrible in that she did NOT take enny pikshors.  She did habs her hands and arms and lap fool of crazy dog.  The last month of training went owt the window as she was jumping on ebbery.single.person that walked past and lukked at her.  In her defence, almost ebbery.single, person that walked past oohhed and aahhed ober her and encouraged her to act the fool.  She had all kinds of pikkies taken of her because ebberbuddy said she is just.so.cute!  I just stood there patshuntly and got lots of lovings, too, so she was a grate wingman for me!  She took the roll seriously by winging all ober the place!

We got lots of treets and burfday treets for Lacifur as she turns ONE negst month.  I got two noo tag collars, too.  And, I got a bloo llama.  I saw one in sum lady's bag and tried to take it rite out!  So, I got my own before I stole one.  I am resourceful!  Lacifur got herself sum coats that fit gud - AND they were haff price!  I think that they shud be sints she is a haff wit.  Plus, she is just so petite that regular stuff just does not fit.  She also got a cuple noo tag collars and one of them is the same as mine so we will satisfy BossLady's need for matchy-matchy sumtimes.  Ennyway, she got a raincoat and a winter coat and will get a snuggly that fits and she should not be able to chew off.  We shall see!

But, the bestest noose is that we gotted our professional pikshores taken!  I was the rock star and she did stop once inna wile so there should be sum gud wons.  :brushteeth was on the fents about it, but BossLady said that we no how things can go sooper south quickly so do carp the dee-um.  And she paid for it

We gotta hang out at the winery on SatonDay night wiff Angie and Kiva and Miss Nancy and Missr Doug and sum odder foks.  It was fun!  Then, yesserday, we took a nice walkie wiff our normal houndie walking groop and had lots of eggstra peeples from GIG.  Grate times.  I am gonna habs sum gud naps today, which is gud because the fixer men are heer to close up our wall.  Woot!

We hadda lunch wiff Miss Ducky and Flashy - hubba hubba - and Ivy and Cherry as we haven't seen them in about furebber, and Miss Nancy, Missr Doug, Kiva, and Angie.  It was fun!

Happy burfday, Lupin!  We cannot wate to heer about your grate weekend, too!

FancyToo, we are holding you tite in our harts and thots and hope your visit shows sumthing fixable.  When do you go?

Mam, we hope you don't hafta werk so hard this summer and are glad your horse riding is going well.

BossLady reely reely reely wants to play in the dirt, but we still habs frost and freeze warnings this week.  Nothing will get done until affer MundersDay.  BUTT, our hummerburdies are back!  BossLady saw sum this morning.  They putted out the feeders last week as the 15th is when they start to show up.  Spring is reely coming!  Thankfully no bare sitings, but we habs seem sum bare poo - not in our yard tho - yay!

Troo story - this morning at o-dark thirdy, BossLady was FINALLY sound asleep when she herd a THUD.  She immediately thot Lacifur falled off the bed, as she does fall off the couch, the chair, dog beds, you get the pikshoor.  Ennyway, BossLady got up and looked around the bed and nuthin.  Then, BossLady saw a lump on the foot of the bed.  Lacy had fallen off the bed, but she was unner the cubbers at the time and was stuck between the mattress and sheet!  The sheet is long enuf that and she is tiny enough that her weight did not pull the sheet out and she was pinned.  How BossLady managed to eggstracate her without laffing and waking up :brushteeth is still a mystery.  She halled Lacy out and Lacy promptly went up to the top of the bed and sprawled acrost BossLady's pillow and zonked out.  BossLady hadda move that liddle carcass that suddenly ways 200 pounds off her pillow and all Lacy did was groan and moan and refoosed to help.  Fun times.  :lol

Ennyway, sints BossLady was off FriedDay, today to sooper crazy and she is booting me off.  Habs a grate day ebberbuddy!

    Angus :gh_runner

  3. Happy ThirstDay ebberbuddy!  It habs been a sooper bizzy week for the two-leggers and rather boring for me, but that is all gonna change!  BossLady FINALLY told me about this weekend and I am sooper eggsited.  It will be bittersweet though.  Last yeer, we cud hardly be there because of the memorial service for BossLady's mom, but it was fun seeing ebberbuddy and I am eggsited to be able to see y'all eben moor!  Lass yeer was when Zeke decided to start choir practice in the vendor hall and it was so.much.fun.  All the noise for 45 hole seconds!  Now he is not heer and there will be no choir practice.  I have not sung sints he left.  I did bark last outs yesterday though, and that was the first time since Zekie lefted me.  BossLady hasta werk today and then habs her acupuncture after werk, so we won't be at ennyfing today.  We will be around all day tomorrow and SatonDay.  We are NOT going to the banquet tomorrow but are planning on Hauser's on SatonDay.  They usta be a winery and Fancy and Paris spent sum grate times there before they closed down and it changed to what is there now.  Ebberbuddy habs our phone number and we are eggsited to see you!  Lacy will be literally flying high (she habs an impressibe vertical jump) and I imagine there will be a foot on her leash most of the time.

Lupin, we hope you are feeling bedder.  When I had haff of my toe open, I hadda ware a muzzle with a stool guard (or duck tape) to keep me from licklickicking and allow me to not have to ware that stoopid cone.  Hope you are heeling fast!

Glad Missr Kevin found a noo plase to live and it sounds like it will work out just fine.  We feel for that lady as her kids are cleerly in this for themselves.

Congrats on your 25 yeers of service, Mam!  Glad Pap is home and hope things settle out soonest.

Sorry that ebberbuddy cannot come to GIG.  It is fun!  BossLady is glad it is close as Lacy still horks ebbery.single.time she is in a car for moor than 8 minutes.  Washable whelping pads are our friends these days.

Jupe, I hope you are keeping Missr Richard on the strate and narrow and that you habs a gud guys-only time.  Miss Elizabeth, we hope you have a giud time, too, and don't werry too much about the goings-on at home.

Wiki, we are sorry that you are not liking your kibbles!  I hadda change mine since Chewy doesn't carry it ennymoor.  Paws crost that so far things are okay.

Way too early here to think about gardens but BossLady is itching to get started!

She is kicking me off the computer because werk is pretty yappy today and ebberbuddy wants sumthing.  BossLady needs to figger out how she can stop this werking thing - what a time suk!  :rofl

Habs a gud day and we are eggsited to see ebberbiuddy!  Safe travels.

  4. It is MoneyDay ebberbuddy!  Tackses are all dun heer.  BossLady spent over ATE hours yesserday completing the report for the Register of Wills to get her sisser's estate dun and dusted.  It included accounting, which is NOT her fortay.  She takes it to the Courthouse on ThirstDay and then waits wiff bait on her breff that it will be approved and she can close things O-W-T.

Mebbe that balloon guy was fool of hot air - juss like a liddle puppy I no!

Samba, it luks and sounds like you hadda grate visit with chaRlie!  Yay you!

Andipants, I like to play ruff, too.  Howebber, I have been letting Spacy Lacy think she can run fasser then me and we like the running in the yard.  BossLady does put a stop to it when she thinks I am getting to ruff.  Promising cookies always gets Lacy in the house toot sweet.

Miss Kathy, we are so glad that you are coming to GIG but sorry that it is because that is too much trabbeling for Missr Jim right now.  We hope his fambly unnerstands his absence.

It is way too early to start veggie gardens heer.  They are still trying to decide how to put a roof on the garden as the squirrels had a feeld day lass yeer.  BossLady did heer sum fokses ober the weekend so that may help keep the squirrels away, too.

BossLady had her infusion today for her bones - paws crost it doesn't give her a headache like before.

We hope Pap is doing bedder and can come home soon!

That Fallout show is being watched heer.  Bryan binge watched the whole season already.  Too much violence for BossLady but the music is very old school - she heard Nat King Cole!

We are so sorry that liddle bat habs not been found.  :(

BossLady was frustrated with things on the broken wall and they sent a review questionnaire on SatonDay.  Let's just say that the wall repair starts next MoneyDay!  :)

Lupin, you have been getting the bestest walkies!

Gotta run - BossLady is getting too many emails to ignore.  Habs a good day ebbebuddy!

  5. David and I adopted Zeke (LK's Zip Zap) in April 2020, after suddenly losing our boy, Sherman, in February. When he arrived at our home, it decided to rain for an entire week, making it a challenge getting him used to our home and schedule. He was NOT a fan of rain. He was, however,  the brightest ray of sunshine and had the biggest and most cheerful personality of any greyhound I have had the pleasure of catering to. When our vet met him, she declared him a joyful dog and not a greyhound LOL.

As is fitting, it has been raining for days. Zeke suddenly developed a mass on his shoulder and we got him in right away and x-rays confirmed our worst fears. Our beloved, ball-chasing, constantly rooing, bundle of endless energy and love, passed in our arms. He was only 6 and we did not even have 4 years with him.

Rest well, our goodest boy, and please let me know that you are once again chasing chuck-it balls and chewing holes in them. This loss is going to take a long, long time to work through. He was robbed of years of experiences and love, but he did squeeze the most out of every day that he was here.  I miss my boy terribly.  Angus has lost his helicopter tail, too.  We will never have another greyhound choir practice here, either.  It has been so quiet without our nightly serenade.

  6. She is adorable but I would so miss the fuzzy furs.  The next thing you know, your husband is going to be telling the neighbor boy dogs that he isn't afraid to go back to prison!  My ex told that to the boys who hung around our daughter - the looks were hysterical.  Our daughter just rolled her eyes.

  7. Aww, look at both of your pretty girls!  Paws crossed it will be years before another seizure.  Years ago (!), my last whippet had a melanoma mass on his side that had gotten removed prior to his living with me.  When he was about 13, the mass returned.  They removed it again and it never did reappear before he passed at 15.5.  Hoping you have the same success!

  8. We have used generic prozac successfully on more than one hound.  Zeke is an anxious mess but not about walks.  He is 76 ponds,  The vet started him on 30 mg once a day and even after a couple weeks, it was more sedating than we liked, so we weaned him down to two and now he is on one 10 mg capsule a day.  The incessant whining has stopped and when he isn't having a bad disk flare, he is a happy boy.

Angus was put on it due to space/food guarding and that has been really helpful (plus additional modifications to our routines).  The fact that he hasn't put a hole in Lacifur *yet* (I am super vigilant) speaks volumes on how well it works for him.  She is relentless.

I also used it on an elderly whippet with separation anxiety and it got him over the hump and was eventually weaned off and remained fine.

I have also used gabapentin when Fancy was getting anxious as her health deteriorated and it helped with her lumbar discomfort and calmed her down.

I got both prescriptions filled at Costco (they each have canine accounts) and the medications are pretty inexpensive.  I prefer using 10 mg capsules or 100 mg capsules so I can tweak the dose without having to get a new prescription filled.

Scritches to your cutie-pie and hope that you can find the assistance he needs to get his life back.  Anxiety sucks.

    Cindy

  9. How about a trade?  She lets you sleep some.  Lacifur happily sleeps through the night but HAS to be sprawled across the entire pillow while digging her bony head into your throat.  Quality sleep for the hoomom is gone but the baby sleeps great!  So a few hours of uninterrupted sleep would be a wonderful experience here!  However, we do not have any elk.  Will bear and coyote suffice?

  10. My sanity is missing but I knew that quite a while ago!  I ended up wrapping her leash in reinforced duct tape and sprayed it with Bitter Yuck.  Clearly that taste does not hang around long.  She goes after the leash when she is super excited (like when leashing up for a walk) or bored (waiting to cross the street or saying hello to a neighbor).  I was leaving the house to walk all three when an adjuster arrived (a huge tree limb decided to greet the side of our house during a storm) and she spent the entire time going after her leash.  Once we got walking, she was fine.  Lots of energy in this one and the outlets are always fast enough!  As they say, time and patience.  Patience and time.

She cannot have any play dates with others her own size as she had a URI and we are being super cautious that it isn't kennel cough.  Results were mixed as she had gotten the vaccine when we first got her.  Once her quarantine is up, we will get her into basic obedience to tire her little brain out.  She is actively trying to get the boys to play with her and they are not interested lol.  Angus will start chasing her outside but it is so loud and fast that I cannot tell if it is playtime or lunchtime and we break that up.

She will eventually get a new leash and I appreciate the insight!  The mountain rope leashes will be the way to go but I do not see the need to invest $$ until we have better control.  Her current one is still very strong and fine to use, according to our vet.

I think the reason she was named Faith was a reminder for those who interact with her that one day she will relax a smidge or two.  We are just chalking up the missing pillow corners and edges of drawer handles as one of the oldest decorating styles ever - puppy.

Thanks for the help!  Now we can say that we did do the "puppy thing" and I am much happier starting at 15 months haha.  Only 6 more months to go!

  11. She is certainly surviving on her looks alone!  :rofl

She starts digging a hole at the base of a tree.  I fill in the hole and cover it with a big rock.  She goes where the rock was (the ground is wet under it) and digs there.  I cover fill and cover THAT hole.  She digs next to it.  I cover that.  Put a fence around her newest digging area.  She digs up the fence.  SMDH  It is too winter still to create a sandbox for her but I would bet anything she won't touch it.  Oh, and she eats the dirt.  :youcrazy

But, my replacement :lol glasses are due to arrive Tuesday!  They used to be in the middle of our dining table with all chairs pushed in.  Still do not know how she got up there.  She is supposed to be handicapped

Never a dull moment in our house!  She is a super snuggler though.  Would prefer that she not drape her body across my throat at 2:00 a.m.  Not sure if it is love or a murder attempt.  :rotfl

  12. thanks for the suggestions!  Clearly, we have a training issue and are working our way through them.  I have been told that even for a whippet, she is super high energy and is fast.  Yay me LOL.  She chomps on it when we are getting everyone leashed up to walk.  She chomps on it if we see a neighbor or stop on the side of the road for a vehicle to pass.  If she can, she chomps on her harness.  Heck, she chomps on dumb bells in our house - not neoprene coated either!  On a positive note, her teeth are nice and white haha.  I realize (hope) that this behavior will extinguish over time but my last whippet was still going after his leash at 15.  But in the meantime, I need to get something that isn't missing chunks.  I have Bitter Yuck that will be applied today.  It has been quite a while since I have had such a young pup.

Pray for me!  :rotfl  But she is a very welcome distraction from the chaos that has been ruling my life as of late.

She looks so innocent though!  Especially if you ignore the fact that she is everywhere that she really should NOT be.

  13. We have a 9-month old whippet who gnaws on anything and everything. Her current favorite chew toy is her leash. Before she destroys it, I am looking to replace it with a leash that may be more gnaw-resistant than her current webbed one. She is 26 pounds and we are using a 5/8 wide leash. Bonus points for traffic handle, lobster clasp, and adjustable wrist loop. I realize this is the unicorn of leashes but it doesn’t hurt to ask!  Thanks.
