Abby hasn't been outside since she had her dinner yesterday around 4:30. She's been laying on her bed & looks so very

tired. :( I can't believe how fast my sweet baby girl is declining from this dam disease. :weep

  2. morning all! :grouphug: Chase's ashes have been waiting at the vets office for like 10 days now, but I haven't been able to head out there and get them. I know I will bawl...i still feel so sad in the evenings and mornings when she would come on our bed for extra special snuggle time. she always had to be leaning on one of us. I miss that...and getting her ashes back makes is all seem so final. Apparently the dreary rainy weather has made me pretty melancholy this morning.

I know it's very hard picking up their ashes. I started bawling when I picked up Rusty's & had to go outside &

when I got out there I called them & told them I was out in the parking lot & would someone please bring his ashes to me,

they were very nice & brought them out. I cried on the way home, but ya know what, when I brought him in the house,

I felt so much better that he was home where he belonged.

    Hugs to you. :grouphug

  3. Morning everyone.

Just thought I would send an updated pic of Charlie enjoying a chair he decided looked comfortable...for some reason the pic is not appearing. I'll try again.

    And again.

    Awwww, what a sweetheart.

Ice cream works for everything. :)

  4. dee - we are so sorry you have joined us. if you have read through the thread you have found lots of great advice. my vet said rivie could have tramadol whenever she acted like she needed it - she also gets gabapentin in the am & pm. you might read the sutra thread - it is a shoulder osteo as well, and it's been 4 months!! neyla's mom is a great resource - 3 months for her! they help us out tremendously. but you will find great support and understanding here - so we are glad that you found us - feel free to cry/rant/rave whatever - we get it. give abby scritches and hugs and do what we all do - love them!

Thank you for the support. I know everyone here understands what we're all going through.

Dee, I'm so sorry for you and your Abby. :( Neyla's osteo is in her shoulder as well, front left. You can safely give Tramadol and NSAIDS like Meloxicam together so I wouldn't wait for your vet to call you back if she's in a lot of pain. You can also give the Tramadol 3x/day to get extra relief.

Have you decided yet what you'll do? We're doing pain mgt and holistic treatments only, as I'm sure you've read. Not sure if Neyla is doing well b/c they are doing something or we got "lucky" with a slow progressing lesion. :dunno I'm happy to share any info I can about the holistic stuff, feel free to PM me if you have questions or post here. There are some other folks on here who can answer those types of questions as well.

If this is your first time going through this, I think the Bone Cancer Dogs page I've linked to before is an excellent resource to get an overview of osteo and all of the treatment options right off of the bat.

Thank you for your help, & yes, it's my first time dealing with this horrible disease, I know nothing about it. :(

We're doing the pain mgt to.

My vet called last night around 9:00 & she said I could give her the meloxicam & tramadol. I didn't see your

post til now. :blush Yesterday Abby wouldn't put hardly any weight on her leg, she would actually drag her foot sometimes,

but after giving her the meloxicam with the tramadol last night, she seemed to walk a little better this morning.

I'm glad I can come here when I have a question. Thanks.

Give your pups a kiss for me.

How is everyone doing this morning? :grouphug

    Thank you, Jey & Kyle.
