Last week Sophie had xrays and FNA for a lump on her shoulder. Vet called with results saying it looks like STS. I will make an appt with oncologist for biopsy and we'll see if surgery will help. She is 12 1/2 yrs old but in good health.
This after just losing Burdette...

My beautiful boy went to the bridge today (f...ing cancer). He was my momma's boy and was always following me around or just resting his head on my leg. i will miss him terribly

My guys seem to shed all year round

Burdette will lay his head on my leg when I'm sitting and close his eyes. He also jumps up and down and whines when I come home. Sophie will come to me when she wants her head and neck scratched and always sleeps next to me in bed.

Turns out it was not STS but osteosarcoma. I'm not going for amputation/chemo because 1 - the expense and 2- will only give her a few extra months. We spoke about radiation therapy to make her "more comfortable" but after reading a bit about it it will make the pain less but she may end up breaking her leg. I fear she may be joining Burdette at the bridge soon......
