  1. To be honest, I don't put it on regularly enough to know but I have since yesterday and will try to see if it makes a difference. Did your dog paw at the eye often?
  2. Hi all, I've read some of the postings regarding runny eyes, etc. but they don't quite describe my situation. My Ginger has one eye that has bothered her off and on since I've had her (1 yr now!). She paws at it, as if it itches, and it weeps. It has now become a rather chronic situation. The vet found nothing wrong and recommend a dog ophtamologist, especially since she has a birth mark on her iris. The specialist found nothing either but indicated that her eye spot was a little raised but that would not be the cause of the irritation. She indicated that I should look to see if she gets into anything or if it's a reaction to something. I don't see anything out of the ordinary and why is it only happening to 1 eye. The corner of her eye where the tear duct is looks like the source to me. Any other similar experiences out there. Meanwhile, I have a cream that I can put on it. Thanks, Muriel
  3. Hi Leslie Thanks for your support. It's good to hear from you. Just thought you should know, that Dr. Laura Bailey is no longer with VCA Cabrera Animal Clinic. Any ideas on any other vets in the area? The new vet was not familiar with greyound issues.
  4. Hi all, Ginger, my grey, has had her bouts with loose stools. Last Thursday, I discovered her drinking some vey stagnant water from a fountain (she seems to like nasy water). Up until then I had been feeding her the Science Hill Adult formula with water packed tuna. She loved that mixture and it was keeping her poop firm. Then this past weekend the poop started to become runny, and she didn't want her food anymore, only snacks. I changed her food mixture to the same kibble but added boiled chicken breast and carrots. She loved that and it kind of worked but the poop yesterday kind of looked like it came out in some kind of clear bubble-like water substance. I've never seen this in any dog in all my years. Today, she woke me up in the middle of the night and had the runs and she did again this morning. I will probably take her to the vet but any ideas in the meanwhile? Thanks. Muriel
  5. Many thanks for all of your information. I knew I was coming to the right place.
  6. Thanks for the response. Right, that would of course be the simple solution. I'll give it a try. I've had my doggie for about 6 months now, and besides her initial check up, I haven't had to go there yet. So I don't know if they will prescribe without a visit.
  7. Hi all, My grey, Ginger, has tape worms, saw the little booger this morning in her poop. I just saw one segment with the head. Anyway, is the only way to get this taken care is through a vet visit or is there a way to avoid the cost of the vet visit? It's been a long time since I've had a dog with worms. Many thanks Muriel

    My Milly

Dear Leslie, I am so sorry to hear of Milly's passing. I am glad that I was able meet her and spend a little time with her. She was such a gentle and noble grey, and she could not have had a better home. Hugs and kisses, Muriel

  11. Hi everyone, I just recently adopted a beautiful red female grey. Her race name was Talk this Way, but I figured that Ginger was somehow more appropriate (Gilligan's Island maybe?). Anyway, a very special person from the adoption center suggested that I check out this site. This site is very interesting and I look forward to its participation in my continued initiation into all that is greyhound. I tried to post a couple of pictures and followed Jeff's instruction, but could not locate the browse button on the bottom of the page so that I could insert the pictures. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot and Happy 4th! Muriel
