  1. I had water to the dry dog food and let it soak overnight, then 2 to 3 he in after before they eat. Have had better results. No gagging on dry food. In morning I have too add more water since it soaked in during night. But the food is not bone dry to eat.

When our Paisley wouldn't eat, we do this. She seemed to like the food better this way.

  2. Many years ago, I had read that if there was a lot of time between the last meal of the day and the 1st meal the next day, some dogs would do this. A late night snack at bedtime helped some of these cases.

I think I try a little snack at bedtime and see if that helps. He not choking or anything like that.

  3. Tom & Patricia, I was so sorry to read about Paisley on Facebook. She adored ya'll both. I loved seeing her pictures & reading about her adventures. I know you are going to miss her so much.

    PS

Thank you for your condolences on my loss also.

Thanks Hilda. She was much loved and traveled far. I am sad you never got to meet her. I am saying some prayers for you as well. :heart

  4. With sad heart with both of us there, we let Paisley go to the bridge yesterday. God Speed my sweet angel til we meet again.

It is always hard to let them go.

    Our Paisley

We pre-adopted Paisley through the FTH (Follow that Hound) Program. Paisley and her siblings where born in their momma's kitchen floor during a hurricane.

We decided on pre-adopting Paisley and we got to watch her grow up, got to visit her and watched all her races online and we got to see some in person. She was a very good racer.

Then when Paisley's racing career was over we adopted her. We went and picked her up at Maryland House off the hauler. When she got home she fit right in with our other greyhounds.

Paisley traveled so many miles with us. From Maryland to Florida over 6 times to visit her mama and other FTH folks. She went to Sandy Paws, GIG, down to our beach house in DE, Dewey Beach and many greyhound events where we vended.

I know she'll be watching us from above and I am sure our Zeus, Suzy, Milky, Annie and Lincoln met her at the bridge and they are all running and having fun.

  5. Saw the vet and Paisley has kidney disease and it's not good. They are keeping her to get her vaules up but if all goes well she can come home in a few days. We'll just have to keep up what they did at the vet. I am so sad. Poor little girl.
