Congrats! My broods were sisters. One had over 20 puppies, and the other only 7. They were great dogs! I took them home from the hospital together after their spays. I had trouble fitting them in the car with cones on their heads, but they were fine at home with bite not collars instead of cones. I always have five dogs at a time, and they were great with all dogs who came into the house. Good luck!

Hope she heals up soon. She might be more comfortable with a bite to collar instead of the cone. You can make one with a bath towel and vet wrap. Fold towel in thirds lengthwise and wrap around neck. Secure with vet wrap. No cone over her head, but she can't turn her neck enough to get at the iincision.

Don't use peroxide on the wound, but it's great for cleaning up blood. Manuka honey works well. Pipe insulation, also foam curlers, works to protect the tail. Lots of YouTube videos with other ideas.

Watch some of the YouTube videos. What you described taking out doesn't sound like a corn. Keep it moist. Soaking does help. I would just keep poking at the edges to make sure that they are free. Just push the sides back like a cuticle. You shouldn't have to cut anything if it's ready to come out. There are plenty of expensive products and treatments out there. Most people find that they don't work, but you will always find a fan for each of them. Good luck!
